FPL Gameweek 28 Captaincy choices and Differential Picks

With the deadline of FPL gameweek 28 closer, the FPL managers have to decide on whom to give the armband considering the multiple captaincy options for this week. In a gameweek which will see a couple of sides playing twice, it is necessary to have differential players from those sides in order to get ahead from the crowd.

Here are some of the top captaincy choices for Gameweek 28:

1) Mohammed Salah vs West Ham (H)

One of the things to remember in FPL is that always prefer form over fixture. With all the chaos ongoing about double gameweek, Mo Salah is still one of the top choices for armband in FPL for this week.

The match against West Ham might not be the easiest but Liverpool is chasing City for the title and hence Klopp’s men will go all-out in every game from now on. Salah being the player he is, always possesses the threat and he could hurt West Ham as he did in the return fixture.

2) Che Adams vs Aston Villa (A), Newcastle (H)

A left-sided pick some might say, but Adams is considered particularly for two reasons. Firstly, Southampton are doubling this week which will see them face Villa and Newcastle. These are the fixtures where Southampton will be up for the fight considering their current form.

Another reason being, out of all the teams and players which are doubling this week, Adams comes out on top when it comes to current form. Having scored or assisted in his last 4 games, Adams is displaying the numbers and if he does that in gameweek 28, it could turn out to be a great captaincy punt.

3) Philippe Coutinho vs Southampton (H), Leeds (A)

The Brazilian has been not in the best of form recently but the fixture against Leeds could be the one to target. Playing their first match under the new manager, Leeds will take time to settle which could provide an opportunity for Coutinho to haul.

Adding to the fact that he has a double gameweek, second of which is against Southampton it could turn out to be a great captaincy choice.

Differential picks for FPL Gameweek 28:

1) Joe Willock – 3.7% ownership

The ex-Gunner is enjoying his time at Newcastle having played a crucial role last season as well for the Magpies. Newcastle are enjoying their form having not lost a league game since the turn of the year. With the form that they are in they could provide options to consider in FPL.

Willock has scored once and assisted twice in his last 4 games which makes him an option to consider for Newcastle’s double gameweek 28 against Brighton and Southampton. At 3.7% ownership, he could prove to be a differential to provide the green arrow in this week.

2) Max Kilman – 3.6% ownership

A defender from the side which has conceded the least goals is always good to have and Kilman at 3.6% ownership could be a great asset for this gameweek and the fixtures ahead as well.

Kilman has become one of the mainstays in that Wolves defence who will be facing Palace and Watford at home in gameweek 28. Priced at only 4.6m, he also becomes the budget buy to provide the money for other premium options.

3) Kai Havertz – 3.8% ownership

This pick could go either all the way successful or haywire considering the rotation risk at Chelsea. While the safe pick is to go with a Chelsea defender, the fixtures against Norwich and Burnley might tempt the FPL managers to go for a Chelsea attacker and Havertz could just be the choice.

Considering his current form and him being deployed in a False 9 position by Tuchel, the German could be in for goals this weekend and the fixture ahead. At 3.8% ownership, he could turn out to be a great punt for this gameweek in FPL.
