The deadline for Gameweek 4 is fast approaching and the FPL Managers are getting ready with their changes. The announcement of Cristiano Ronaldo has forced the managers into early wildcards. The adding of premium forward has meant the managers are looking for budget picks in the midfield and there is plenty to look for from this season.

Here we are with our Top 5 Midfield picks for Gameweek 4:

1. Mohammed Salah (£12.5m), Leeds vs Liverpool

The Liverpool stalwart has proven to be one of the set and forget picks in FPL year after year. The Egyptian started this season on a similar note after a 17 point haul against Norwich. The 12.5m price is worth it when it comes to Salah and he should be one of the first names in your team especially with the fixtures ahead.

A match against Leeds, known for their high intensity game will leave Liverpool with a lot of spaces in behind which Salah can capitalise on. This fixture reminds us of last season’s opener which ended 4-3 in Liverpool’s favour. Another high scoring encounter is on the cards and a fixture that Salah can thrive on.

2. Said Benrahma (£6.4m), Southampton vs West Ham

One of the revelations of this season, Said Benrahma is starting to become one of the favoured by the FPL Managers this season. After an unfortunate blank last time around, Benrahma will be expected to reward his new owners with atleast a goal.

The Hammers have a favourable fixture against a Southampton side that has not been at their best yet. Considering his form, Benrahma is a safe pick going ahead.

3. Mason Mount (£7.5m), Chelsea vs Aston Villa

A differential of sorts in the list of midfielder, Mason Mount often goes under the radar. He is the kind of player who is a “more than a output” kind of player and hence not so popular with the FPL Managers. However, Mount is in a good run of form and a home game against Aston Villa can be the perfect fixture to get on the scoring sheet.

The attack under Tuchel has been much improved as seen in the games done by, and with the addition of Lukaku to hold the ball, Mount can thrive. He is selected by 17.3% of the managers and can be a differential in the mini-leagues.

4. Bruno Fernandes (£12.0m), Manchester United vs Newcastle

After the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo, the ownership of Bruno Fernandes has seen a fall. With the set-pieces duty going away from him, FPL Managers are looking to cash in on the midfielder to get funds elsewhere. Bruno has been transferred out by a huge 8,84.652 managers and his ownership percentage has come down to 45%. However, is it worth selling him? We think not just yet.

There are doubts over Cristiano Ronaldo’s inclusion in the starting 11 so Bruno has a huge role to play. Even if Ronaldo starts, Bruno is worth keeping for one more gameweek atleast especially when the fixture is against Newcastle at home.

5. Ferran Torres (£7.9m), Leicester vs Manchester City

Ferran Torres plays for Manchester City and is a part of the infamous Pep Roulette which the FPL Managers envy. Going with a Manchester City player is a risk but Torres can pave the way into the Cityzens setup. After an 18-points haul against Arsenal, starting in the No.9 position, the Spaniard is expected to get more going forward.

With the Brazilian players not playing this weekend, Torres is expected to start again with Jesus missing. Leicester can be a difficult opponent but they have had a poor start to the season with Rodgers yet to decide on a fixed formation. Their defence has leaked goals and Torres will be able to capitalise on it.
