Suffering back-to-back losses to start their season, Hyderabad FC are desperate to secure a positive result in their first home game of the campaign. The Nizams welcome fellow strugglers Chennaiyin FC, placed bottom of the pile, at the Balayogi Stadium to turn their form around. Although the losses against East Bengal 2-1 and Jamshedpur FC 1-0 have been narrow, the 2021 ISL trophy winner so far has failed to convert their chances. In the last match, Hyderabad FC managed to produce six shots on target off 12 overall without finding the back of the net. They also dominated possession of the ball yet could not create anything out of it. Constant changes in the line-up also suggest that the idea of a consistent eleven is also missing. Thagboi Singto’s side will hope to get things right quickly.

Chennaiyin FC’s first home game of the season went in the same manner as the two away matches to start the season. It was also Bagan’s wastefulness that saved the hosts from further embarrassment. So far, Owen Coyle’s return to the club has not produced the results and heavy defeats one after the other has put a lot of question mark on the team even this early in the season. However, Chennaiyin FC are hoping the international break gave them enough time to regather their ideas to pull them up from the bottom of the table.
