INT vs ACM Coppa Italia 2021-22 Semi Final leg 2 Match Preview

The first leg of the contest a month back was a forgetful affair as neither of them pressed each other to get a result out of the game. The second leg promises to be a different one as both teams gear up for a fierce derby. Both clubs are of course engaged in heated battles for the Scudetto. Stefano Pioli's Milan stretched their unbeaten streak to 11 league games and 13 in all competitions with a 2-0 over Genoa at the weekend. Their lead at the top of Serie A is now two points. Moreover, Milan haven't conceded a single goal starting with the stalemate in the first leg. The manager himself said his team's solidity surprises him because of the team's offensive and risky nature. The fact they have managed to keep seven clean sheets in a row without Simon Kjaer or Romanogli needs applauding. Pierre Kalulu and Gabbia have stepped up decisively in their place. Milan's task is now to maintain it against a team from where it all started. They have beat Inter already this season so an additional dose of confidence for Pioli and his boys.

Simeone Inzaghi's men have their unbeaten streak to boast about. Inter haven't lost a single game since losing to Sassuolo in February and have kept a clean sheet in six of those nine games preceding it. In that period, the Nerazzuri have picked up five wins with three out of three this month. Positive signs are again emerging for the Serie A holders after a slump allowed others to gain ground in the Scudetto chase. Defending the title will be an utmost priority still Inter are not leaving any stone unturned to get over the line in this historical competition. Their last success in Coppa Italia came back in 2011. It was also their last appearance in the showpiece final. Inzaghi understands the importance of winning trophies this season to keep the dominance Inter have shown in the last two years. Winning Serie A is a grand charm but a Coppa Italia triumph will give Inzaghi some plaudits. After all, he has won this competition before with Lazio in 2019. In order to get there, Inter have to win against Milan for the first time this season.
