Best Premier League Striker This Season (2025-26)

If you look at the stats right now, then the best Premier League striker so far this season is undoubtedly Erling Haaland with 22 goals, 4 more than second-placed Igor Thiago. However, we feel goals alone doesn't mean we can say Haaland has been the best striker this season, as we believe there are many other factors which we should consider while determining who really has been the best striker so far in the EPL. So scroll down to have a look at our personal Ranking of the best EPL strikers right now.

4. João Pedro

João Pedro hasn't been absolutely brilliant from an open-play performance perspective for Chelsea, but his numbers are fantastic for a player who's in his first season at Chelsea. He's scored 14 goals in the league for the Blues, and he's also assisted another 5. The Brazilian has also improved a lot since Liam Rosenior has taken over. However, we must also note that Pedro has the support of a world-class midfield behind him which includes the likes of Enzo Fernandez and Cole Palmer. Overall, it's been a decent debut season for him.

3. Hugo Ekiteke

Hugo Ekiteke and Alexander Isak were signed by Liverpool in the same Summer Transfer window last year. The majority were of the opinion that Ekiteke, who was coming from the Bundesliga, had absolutely no chance against the Premier League proven Isak when it came to being Liverpool's starting striker. What has ended up happening though, is quite the opposite, as Isak has had a horrendous debut season filled with poor performances and series injuries, while Ekiteke has established himself as one of Liverpool's best players this season with 11 goals in a struggling side. The tables have turned and now it's Isak who'll have to do work to display Ekiteke as Liverpool's first-choice striker.

2. Erling Haaland

Purely from a numbers perspective, Erling Haaland has been the best striker this season in the Premier League. He's scored an unbelievable 22 goals in 28 games this season, and the Norwegian has been more involved in City's open play this season. Haaland has been more involved in defensive work than usual, and his link-up play has improved a lot as well. He is City's main man, and they tend to struggle whenever he isn't in form or unavailable to play. The only reason he isn't number 1 is due to the extraordinary

circumstances under which the person below has scored his goals this season .

1. Igor Thiago

Prior to the current Premier League season, if any single football fans had predicted that Igor Thiago, the Brazilian striker who was going to play his first full-season for Brentford as their main striker, was going to challenge Erling Haaland for the Premier League golden boot, then almost all of us would've called that fan mental. Thiago has had one of the most extraordinary individual seasons in Premier League history by a striker from a mid-table club. He currently has 18 Premier League goals, just 4 behind Haaland despite playing for Brentford side that does not possess quality Midfielders to the level of Man City. Regardless if he surpasses Haaland or not, he is definitely our number 1 striker pick for what he has done with Brentford.

Conclusion

Overall, the current season has showcased several strikers performing at an elite level, each contributing goals, consistency, and decisive moments for their teams. Our top four is based not only for their goal-scoring numbers but also for their influence in matches and ability to lead the attacking line effectively. While styles and strengths differ, their impact on results and offensive play places them above the rest in the Premier League.
