We here are with the latest Bournemouth FC Transfer news, and its good news for their fans as the club are close to signing Vasco da Gama Brazilian winger Rayan as a long-term replacement for Antoine Semenyo. Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Bournemouth have agreed a deal in principle to sign Rayan from Vasco da Gama for a €35 million package. The Brazilian is widely seen as one of the best talents now in South America, and looks ready to switch to the Premier League.
Rayan was previously linked to Liverpool as well during his time at Vasgo da Gama, which is a proof of how highly rated he is among the top clubs in Europe. Bournemouth fans are still heartbreaking over star player Antoine Semenyo leaving for Manchester City, but Rayan looks like a special talent who could heal some of the wounds and bring joy to the Bournemouth fans.
Rayan's career at Vasco da Gama
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Rayan joined Vasco da Gama at just six years old, the same club where his father Valkmar played as a defender between 1995 and 2000. He quickly built a reputation as a prodigious goal-scorer at the club. By the age of 11, he had already scored an astonishing 280 goals, marking him out as one of the club’s brightest young talents.
Rayan carried that form into Vasco’s under-17 side, where he netted 29 goals in 34 matches during the 2022 season. His performances did not go unnoticed, attracting interest from European giants such as Barcelona.
Progressing into the senior setup, Rayan completed his second professional season with Vasco da Gama, making 41 appearances in total. While still developing, he started 16 of those matches and contributed three goals, gaining valuable first-team experience at a young age.
Recognising his potential and long-term value to the club, Vasco da Gama rewarded Rayan with a new contract on 12 December 2025, extending his stay until December 2028. Although that doesn't mean much now, as Bournemouth have signed the talented Brazilian.
What next for Bournemouth and Rayan?
Bournemouth will be facing Liverpool this Premier League weekend. Rayan is not expected to be available for that game. However, he could soon make his debut when the Cherries face Wolves on 31st January in the league.
