Inter Milan are in talks with Chelsea about re-signing Romelu Lukaku on loan this summer.

Lukaku, who joined Chelsea for a club-record fee of £97.5m from Inter last August, wants to return to the San Siro after a disappointing 2021/22 campaign.

However, the deal must make sense financially for Chelsea if they are to sanction the striker's move back to Italy.

Inter cannot afford to sign Lukaku - who scored 64 goals in 95 games and helped them to the Serie A title during his time at the club - on a permanent deal.

Chelsea and Man Utd interested in PSV midfielder Sangare

Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in signing PSV midfielder Ibrahima Sangare this summer.

Sangare is believed to have a €35m (£29.9m) release clause in his contract and has also been linked in the Dutch media with Liverpool and Newcastle.

A source close to the 24-year-old said the player has his heart set on moving to England and is convinced he will be a Premier League player next season.

Real Madrid confirm Rudiger signing on four-year deal

Real Madrid have confirmed the long-awaited signing of Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger on a four-year deal.

The 29-year-old will move to the Bernabeu on a free transfer after he turned down the Blues' attempts to renew his contract.

Sky Sports News reported in May that Rudiger was set to join Real after choosing the newly-crowned European champions over a host of other elite clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Manchester United.

Drinkwater apologizes as he heads for exit

Danny Drinkwater has apologized to Chelsea fans for a "business move gone wrong" on confirming the end of his five years at Stamford Bridge.

The former Manchester United trainee helped Leicester win the league in 2015 but now finds himself a free agent, after four loans in three years to close out his Chelsea tenure.

"My time at Chelsea has come to an end, actually feels really strange writing this," Drinkwater posted on Instagram. "Me, the club and the fans are hugely disappointed there is no doubt about that.

"Injuries, how I have been treated, mistakes I have made, issues off the pitch, lack of game time; the list of excuses could be endless but I would not and can not change what's happened.

"Football's a fantastic sport but this for both parties was a business move gone wrong, it's as black and white as that. To the Chelsea fans I apologise for how this has turned out. I would have loved for you to see me at my best in that shirt doing what I love."
