The one thing certain is that Chelsea might be the busiest premier league club in the summer transfer market despite the global economic slowdown due to the pandemic . Especially since coming past a transfer ban last summer and losing their key player Eden Hazard to Real Madrid, they will be looking to boost their squads. And also, they have money from their recent sales of Alvaro Morata and Hazard who was not likely replaced in the squad but with their younger academy graduates. Though, they did a good job in their 2019/2020 league adventure so far anchoring a position in the top four thanks to their manager Frank Lampard.

The following players are the most likely potential signings :

Hakim Ziyech:

Ziyech signed a deal in the last January agreeing on a transfer after the 2019/20 season with an initial €40m potentially rising to €44m. With the current season being delayed due to the pandemic and since the Eredivisie put an immature end to the season, the Ajax winger has mentioned that he would join Chelsea on July 1st as mentioned in the deal. And that means he would link up with the London blues even before the start of next season.

Timo Werner:

It seems that Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Werner according to Sky Sports and that means they have swooped a player with good finishing and electric pace from right under the nose of Liverpool as they reportedly refused to pay his release clause of €54m. According to the Daily Telegraph, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard and Peter Cech made an undercover trip before lockdown to Germany to convince Timo Werner to choose Chelsea ahead of Liverpool and Manchester United. Chelsea are reportedly discussing the final details of the transfer. RB Leipzig coach Julien Nagelsmann stated that he couldn't stop Werner's exit, as per DAZN. And that makes this a seemingly inevitable transfer.

Ben Chilwell:

Chelsea is going all in this summer for their no.1 left-back target Chilwell to add competition to the aforementioned position after  Marcos Alonso falling out of Lampard's first-team plan. Leicester are holding out the same transfer tactics as they did with Harry Maguire to get the most price out of them. Until now, they rejected every bid and insisted Chilwell is not for sale, according to Daily Telegraph.

Kai Havertz:

As of now, Manchester United and Chelsea runs a two-way race to sign this €70m rated midfielder who can also play on the wings. But Real Madrid is also set to enter the race but they prefer to make signings in the summer of 2021 rather than 2020. According to Daily star, Bayer Leverkusen Sporting Director Rudi Voller feels that Havertz would rule out Chelsea and Manchester United to stay with them for another year.

Andre Onana:

Current Chelsea no.1 Kepa Arrizabalaga have been receiving sticks from fans and critics since his record-breaking deal and also caused controversies refusing to be substituted by then manager Maurizio Sarri last year. Due to a string of under-par performances he was also dropped from the first team for Willy Caballero for a number of consecutive matches. This summer seems to be the end of the road at Chelsea for Kepa and Onana seems to be quite a good deal with his young age and good experience in the Champions League. Onana receives interested from PSG also and Chelsea should be ready with a bid of €27m if they want to sign the Cameroon international.
