A season that was interrupted by a global pandemic, whose effects is bound for the following season too, has come to a close thanks to the final round of fixtures on Sunday night.

The last quarter of the Premier League 2019/20 season was played without any in-person attendance in the stadiums. But the intensity was always there.

A one-way title chase coupled with a tremendous battle for European places as well as the race to stay in the league. Another intriguing season in English football. Liverpool were the runaway winners as the Reds marched on an unprecedented run in the pursuit of what is their first league triumph in three decades.

The race for Europe went right down to the wire with at least three teams fighting for two places. And it was the last round of fixtures to finally separate the sides. United and Chelsea edged past Leicester to qualify for the Champions League.

The other side of the table also witnessed a dramatic turn of events as Aston Villa and West Ham avoided relegation while Bournemouth, Watford and Norwich City have been demoted to the second tier of English football.

The season has ended, but it has certainly etched some wonderful moments in the hearts of their fans. Here's a club-by-club look at the top moments of each of the top-flight teams in the Premier League 2019/20 season:

Liverpool: Winning 18 matches in a row

What a season it has been for the Merseyside club as they captured their maiden PL triumph. They had many great moments including 18 straight league wins, equalling City's record from the 2017/18 season.

Other highlights:

  • Winning the Club World Cup

  • Beating Leicester 4-0 on boxing day

  • Beating Manchester City 3-1

  • Going 44 league games unbeaten

Manchester City: Beating Real Madrid at the Bernabeu

Manchester City didn't have too much to shout about in the Premier League, as they fell 18 points short of the champions and suffered a loss to the hands of United [both home and away]. But beating Real Madrid 2-1 at the Bernabeu in the Champions League RO16 is definitely a boost for them.

Other highlights:

  • Winning the Carabao Cup

  • Beating Liverpool 4-0 after the restart

Manchester United: Signing Bruno Fernandes

Bruno Fernandes has revamped United's season as the Portuguese has been directly involved in 15 goals [8 goals and 7 assists] in 14 games in the Premier League. The attacking midfielder has also claimed two 'PL Player Of The Month' awards after joining United midway into the season. He has been a driving force as the Reds managed to qualify directly for the UCL.

Other highlights:

  • Doing the league double over Manchester City

  • 1-1 draw against Liverpool to end their winning streak in the Premier League

Chelsea: Doing the double over Tottenham

It's been a rather inconsistent first season for the Blues' boss Frank Lampard but the campaign has certainly been a positive one. Qualifying for next year's Champions League makes it a successful season. They have time and again shown their mettle against quality oppositions. But the highlight would surely be beating Jose Mourinho's Tottenham twice, 2-0 away and 2-1 at home.

Other highlights:

  • Beating Liverpool 2-0 in the FA Cup

Leicester City: Beating Southampton 9-0

Leicester didn't manage to qualify for the Champions League, as the results on the final day of the season went against their favour. But it has been a season to remember for the Foxes, as Brendan Rodgers' side went into the record books with a thumping 9-0 win against Southampton earlier this season.

Other highlights:

  • Winning nine league games in a row

  • Jamie Vardy won the PL Golden Boot

Tottenham: Beating Manchester City 2-0

Out of the Carabao Cup, Out of the fA Cup, Out of the Champions League, didn't qualify for UCL next season. It's not been a great season for the London-based club. But one win under House Mourinho does stand out though. A 2-0 win against Manchester City was their biggest result of the season.

Other highlights:

  • Heung-Min Son's incredible solo goal against Burnley

Wolves: League double over Manchester City

Nuno Espirito Santo's side has had a very successful season in the Premier League. Wolves finished seventh in the table, just seven points adrift of Fourth-placed Chelsea side. But their biggest takeaway from this season has to be the league double over Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.

Other Highlights:

  • Looking good in the Europa League RO16

Arsenal: Watford beating Liverpool

Arsenal did not have much to talk about as the gunners finished eighth in the league, three points behind Wolves. But it's a well-documented fact that Arsenal are the only Premier League side to go an entire season undefeated. So when Watford defeated Liverpool 3-0, it was the best moment of their season.

Other highlights:

  • The sacking of Unai Emery

  • Appointment of Mikel Arteta

  • Beating United 2-0 at the Emirates

Sheffield United: Drawing 2-2 at Stamford Bridge after going 2-0

Chris Wilder's side has had plenty of moments to cherish in this season's Premier League as they managed to finish in the top half of the table. But their late recoup at the Stamford Bridge is the pick of the lot as Sheffield United went from 2-0 down to equalize in the final stages of the game.

Other highlights:

  • Reaching quarter-finals of the FA Cup

  • Beating Arsenal 1-0

Burnley: 2-0 away win at Old Trafford

It has been a good season for Burnley as they have not only managed to beat relegation but also finish in the top half of the table. But the most remarkable moment for Sean Dyche's men came when they faced Manchester United at Old Trafford in January and beat them by two goals to nil.

Other Highlights:

  • Going seven games unbeaten before the league was postponed

  • 1-1 draw away at Liverpool
