Barcelona know their confirmed squad that will look to retain La Liga's title for the third successive season after the transfer window closed on Monday. La Liga transfer window is closed and it’s been a busy one for Barcelona with plenty of ins and outs. Now the focus for Ernesto Valverde will be on preparing his squad for the game against Valencia, after the international break. The Catalan giants were linked with a move for Neymar all summer but the transfer talks broke down towards the end of the window after Barca could not offer a satisfactory proposal. Barcelona spend big on Antoine Griezmann and Frenkie De Jong, sold some fair players like Malcolm and Jasper Cillessen, while Coutinho & Rafinha both sealed loan moves. Without further ado, let's take a look at all Barcelona's summer transfers(ins & outs). 

 

INs 

 

ANTOINE GRIEZMANN - Atletico Madrid to Barcelona for €120 mn 

 

Barcelona activated Atletico Madrid’s release clause for Antoine Griezmann worth €120million and signed him to a five-year contract with a release clause of $900 million. Griezmann was linked with a move to Barcelona for the past three transfer windows with him almost joining the Catalans before the deal fell through. He finally signed this summer but Atletico disputed the transfer fee. They felt that Griezmann and Barcelona agreed terms in March when his release clause was €200 mn. Barcelona denied all the claims. The dispute was later settled as both clubs reached a private agreement.

 

FRANKIE DE JONG - Ajax to Barcelona for €75 mn

 

Barcelona and Ajax reached an agreement for Frenkie De Jong's transfer in January on a five-year contract, effective from 1st July, 2019. After beating Paris Saint-Germain, in the race to sign the Dutch midfielder, Barcelona set his release clause at €400 mn. De Jong became the 20th Dutchman to represent the Catalan club, and he admits he has long wanted to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Johan Cruyff and Ronald Koeman.

 

NETO - Valencia to Barcelona for €26 mn

 

Neto joined La Liga champions, Barcelona on a four-year deal for an initial €26 mn plus €9 mn in add-ons. He was brought as a direct replacement for Jasper Cillessen who joined Valencia. His release clause has been set at €200 mn.

 

JUNIOR FIRPO - Real Betis to Barcelona for €18 mn

 

Barcelona signed Junior Firpo for €18 mn plus €12 mn in add-ons. His five-year contract has a release clause of €200 mn. At first Betis demanded €50 mn which was his release clause but Barcelona waited for the other clubs to give up on the transfer and became the only bidders. 

 

EMERSON - Atletico Mineiro to Barcelona for €12 mn 

 

Barcelona signed the Brazilian right-back from Atletico Mineiro on a five-year deal. The player initially joined Betis in January loan until the end of the season. Deal was that Barcelona will pay 12 million euros for the player, of which half, six million, will be borne by Betis in three installments, with both entities sharing 50% of the player's economic rights. Emerson will join Betis, where he will stay for at least two and a half seasons. In June 2021 Barça will be able to incorporate the player paying six million and an additional amount of surplus value, keeping the Betis a percentage of a future sale.

 

OUTs

 

MALCOM - Barcelona to Zenit Saint Petersburg for €40 mn

 

Brazilian right-winger, Malcom joined Zenit from Barcelona in a €40 mn deal. Barca will also get a percentage of his fee if he is sold in the future. He managed to play 24 games with the Catalans and scored four times in the 2018/2019 season.

 

JASPER CILLESSEN - Barcelona to Valencia for €35 mn

 

Barcelona sold Cillessen to Valencia with Neto moving to Camp Nou in a separate deal. Cillessen has signed with the Bats till June 2023 with a release clause of €80 mn.

 

ANDRE GOMES - Barcelona to Everton for €25 mn

 

Everton signed Andre Gomes in a permanent deal after a successful loan spell at Goodison Park last season. 

 

DENIS SUAREZ - Barcelona to Celta Vigo for €12.9 mn

 

Denis Suarez signed a four-year deal at Balaidos with Celta paying €12.9 mn to Barcelona. He barely played last season as he spent the first half of the season at Barca on the bench and the second half at Arsenal. 

 

MARC CARDONA - Barcelona to Osasuna for €2.5 mn

 

Osasuna signed Marc Cardona until 2023. He spent last season on loan at Eibar where he played 17 games and scored three goals. 

 

SERGI PALENCIA - Barcelona to AS Saint-Etienne for €2 mn 

 

Palencia's tenure ended at Barcelona after 12 seasons as he joined Saint-Etienne. Barcelona will also receive 20% of any future fee paid for the sale of Sergi Palencia by Saint-Etienne.

 

ADRIAN ORTOLA - Barcelona to CD Tenerife 

 

Ortola signed for second division club, Tenerife after spending 2018-19 season on loan at Deportivo La Coruña.

 

 

LOAN

 

PHILIPPE COUTINHO - Barcelona to Bayern Munich for €8.5 mn loan fee

 

Coutinho joined Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich on a one-year loan with an option to buy for €120 mn. Bayern will pay his wages for the duration of the loan spell. He joined Barcelona from Liverpool in January 2018 but he struggled made an impact. 

 

RAFINHA - Barcelona to Celta Vigo for €1.5 mn loan fee

 

Rafinha extended his contract with Barcelona till 2021 and joined Celta Vigo for the rest of the season. Celta will pay his wages and Barcelona will get €1.5 mn in add-ons if Celta achieve some of their targets with Rafinha in their team.

 

JUAN MIRANDA - Barcelona to Schalke 

 

Schalke signed Miranda on a two-year loan deal from Barcelona with no option to buy. Barcelona has the right to terminate the contract after one season. He made four first team appearances last season including the Champions League group stage game against Tottenham.

 

ORIOL BUSQUETS - Barcelona to FC Twente 

 

Oriol joined the Eredivisie side on a one-year loan deal with no option to buy. 

 

MARC CUCURELLA - Barcelona to Getafe 

 

Barcelona triggered Cucurella's release clause just days after his permanent move to Eibar, only to loan him out to Getafe with an option to buy at €6 mn. Barcelona will have 40% of the player's rights.
