France Squad for Euro 2024 Qualifiers in June

Head coach Didier Deschamps announced a 23-man squad for France to play the Euro 2024 Qualifiers in June.

France gears up for more Euro 2024 qualifiers action in June without some of the renowned stars of the team missing but promising players returning from injury. Les Blues sit at the top of their qualifying group, Group B, after two wins from as many matches in the opening round of the qualifiers. The team will be determined to strengthen their position while facing Gibraltar and Greece in the next games.

Previous results

France 4-0 Netherlands - Stade de France, Saint Dennis (25 March 2023)

Rep of Ireland 0-1 France - Aviva Stadium, Dublin (28 March 2023)

France started their Euro 2024 qualifiers with a bang beating the top-place rivals of their qualifying group, the Netherlands by 4-0. Kylian Mbappe scored a brace after Antoine Griezmann and Dayot Upamecano converted within 10 minutes of the match to stun the Dutch. The momentum was carried into the second match in Dublin although the home side made it tough for the Les Blues. Benjamin Pavard scored the all-important winner with a screamer but it was Mike Maignan who saved France from disarray with an outstanding save late in the match.

Christopher Nkunku finally makes France’s squad for the Euro 2024 Qualifiers in June after failing to get into the World Cup or the March qualifier due to a knee injury. Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele is recalled to the team following his absence for hamstring problems from the last squad. The same goes for Chelsea’s Wesley Fofana who withdrew from his first call-up two months back with injury and also missed the tournament in Qatar for the same reason. Injured stars like William Saliba, Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante all miss out. Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram, a transfer target of Liverpool, is also sidelined.

France Fixtures Euro 2024 Qualifiers

Gibraltar vs France - Estadio Algarve, Gibraltar (17 June 2023)

Lowly Gibraltar will face France for the very first time with Didier Deschamps’s men expected to grab all three points in this fixture comfortably. The hosts in this match have conceded three goals in each of the last two Euro 2024 qualifiers against Netherlands and Greece. They have not scored a goal so far. The match is scheduled at the Estadio Algarve stadium two weeks from now.

France vs Greece - Stade de France, Saint-Denis (20 June 2023)

France have more history with Greece and successful ones with 13 out of 19 meetings won, four draws and just two defeats. Les Blues also went on to win nine of their last games of this fixture with the sole victory for the opposition in the period coming in the 2004 European Championship quarterfinals. Greece went on to lift the silverware in that edition for a true underdog story. France will be wishing to end the first half of the qualifiers in June on a high.
