Jose Mourinho was appointed as first-team manager the very next day after a year's absence from managing. It was the first time that Mourinho took a managerial job midseason. It was always going to be a tough ask for any manager.

Due to injuries Spurs failed to secure a top 4 finish and just about qualified for the Europa League on the last matchday. Spurs started the 2020/21 season in top form but inconsistencies started growing as Spurs currently sit 8th on the Premier League table. Tottenham got knocked out of the Europa League Round of 16 by Dinamo Zagreb.

Jose Mourinho has brought success to every club he has managed. Now in his 20th year of managing European clubs, Spurs could be his first real failure but he might still make a comeback. Tottenham are due to face Manchester City in the final of the Carabao cup in April. If Spurs manage to beat Pep Guardiola's team which they have done in the past then Mourinho will end Tottenham Hotspur's 13-year trophy drought.

Spurs are also just 6 points behind 4th placed Chelsea with 10 games left to play. A top 4 finish is still a possibility for Mourinho's side. If Mourinho does manage to achieve it he will surely be backed by the board with some fresh signings in the summer. Mourinho's time at spurs may still be fruitful but a failure is also on the cards.
