As confirmed by the German giants, Julian Nagelsmann is joining Bayern Munich next season. The German giants have already agreed to a world record fee of €25m fees for the 33-year-old.

Here we take a look at 5 such scenarios in which coaches had to be paid a lot to take charge.

5) Jose Mourinho - Chelsea €8m

Mourinho has almost always found philosophy to be comprehensible, and the situation within the fashion capital of the world was compelling. There was the normal Mourinho-ness during his two-season stay in Milan: achievement, controversy, trophies, fights, and more. Inter won the treble under Mourinho in his second year, being the first Italian club to do so. Mourinho personally celebrated the second Champions League title in his managerial career. Mourinho said the day after winning the Champions League that he would be "sad" because "it's almost certainly my last game with Inter." "If you don't coach Real Madrid, you will always have a gap in your career," he said.

4) Ruben Amorim - Sporting CP €10m

Ruben Amorim, 36, is on the brink of accomplishing what numerous managers before him have struggled to do: carry a league championship back to the Estadio José Alvalade. This was possible because Sporting CP wanted to pay huge bucks to pry him away from Braga. It has been 19 years that Sporting hasn’t seen a league title. It might just be the time for redemption. Though his team has been somewhat boring in recent weeks, his new diamond formation provides him with a surprise. Sporting paid €10 million for his services, with an improved release clause of €30 million as of now.

3) Brendan Rodgers - Leicester City €10.5m

Brendan Rodgers took over at Celtic after being sacked by Liverpool and transformed the Scots into a force to be reckoned with, leading them to three consecutive trebles. However, he was offered a fantastic opportunity to recover to the Premier League halfway through the 2018-19 season. Leicester City was looking for a new boss and was willing to pay £10.5 million to Celtic for Rodgers. Rodgers soon found his stride at the King Power Stadium after the deal was finalized. Likely, the Foxes might just qualify for the UCL this season ahead of Liverpool and Arsenal.

2) André Villas-Boas - Chelsea €15m

When Chelsea paid a record fee of €15 million for Andre Villas-Boas, comparisons have been made to the previous boss they employed from Porto, Jose Mourinho. His time at Chelsea, nevertheless, was a disaster, because he fell out with many senior players during his first few months there. AVB was fired halfway through his first season after failing to communicate his strategies to his players, and Roberto Di Matteo was hired as a temporary manager. Chelsea won the UEFA Champions League for the first time that season, and the rest, as they claim, is history.

1) Julian Nagelsmann - Bayern Munich €25m

Julian Nagelsmann's appointment as Bayern Munich's new manager has always seemed inevitable when he rose through the ranks at Hoffenheim. The wunderkind boss is among the best strategists of his generation, and he eventually completed his long-awaited move to the Allianz Arena early last month after agreeing to a contract for the 2021-22 season. Bayern Munich didn't think twice about paying a whopping €25 million to obtain the services, setting a new record holder for a manager by a long shot.
