Premier League is one of the cash-driven leagues in the world. It's glamour spreads worldwide because of the money it circulates through sponsorship, TV deals, and season tickets. So, there is no argument that players are paid handsome amounts even if they are a member of a mid table side.

Those athletes like to come to this league to instigate their duties professionally yes but also to wrap up their daily earnings with the high wage bill they receive. The earnings multiply if that player becomes a celebrity at his respective club. Contract agreements, renewals, bonuses, regular wages, clauses and more help them earn millions. We made a list of five such characters in the Premier league who not only gain fame for their display on the pitch but also for the money in their pockets.

The scenario at present is tough with finances dropping due to pandemic but that never bothers these players. Their wages remain fix and they become an integral member for their respective club to hold on to.

 5.  Paul Pogba (Manchester United):

Paul Pogba beats the likes of Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane, and Mohamed Salah to be the fifth highest earner in the Premier League. The Frenchman receives a total of £290,000 per week at Manchester United. This lump sum helps him to earn more than his teammates, namely Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial. The midfielder is also set to begin fresh contract renewal talks with the club which will help him climb up the wage ladder further.

 4.  Raheem Sterling (Manchester City)

The English winger is known for his flexibility, pace, and dribbling skills. Sterling has won multiple league honors with Manchester City, contributing immensely in sky blue shirt. He has scored 110 goals in 258 appearances for them in all competitions. Such numbers help him earn £300,000 per week. The former Liverpool player is also the highest-paid Englishman in the Premier League. Sterling enjoys the second-highest wage amount at his club.

 3.  Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City)

It is Sterling's Belgian teammate who earns more than anyone else at Manchester City. Kevin De Bruyne pockets an amount of £320,833 per week in the rich club. The incredible playmaker receives a bonus of playing 60 percent of City's matches and also through his image rights deal. The Manchester City star is the fourth most valued footballer in the world and second-most in the Premier League. De Bruyne is likely to earn a bit more in the future if he extends his present contract running till 2023.

1.  David De Gea (Manchester United)

Despite the criticism Spanish Keeper is facing recently, it is no denying that David De Gea is the highest value player at Manchester United in terms of wage bill. De Gea is the joint-highest paid Premier League player and is understood to be on £375,000 per week. He has been cut an admirable figure over the years at Old Trafford for the majority of the period. His wage structure says so. De Gea is also one of those candidates still to renew his future with the club amidst his questionable form.

 1.  Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal)

But the biggest leap on the wage list has been made by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Arsenal. The Gabon International was in speculation over his future with interest from Barcelona and more. The long-standing saga ended on Wednesday with the club captain  penning a huge three year deal until 2024. He moved from 6th on the wage chart to the being the highest-paid player in the Premier League. With De Gea, Aubameyang is set to earn the same amount of 375,000 per week.
