During the qualifiers, The Dragons finished second in the competitive group stage, and later in the playoffs they edged out their opponents to qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Bosnia and Herzegovina started the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualification (UEFA) journey from Group H, where they had competitors like Romania, Cyprus, San Marino, and Austria. With five wins, two draws, and one loss against Austria, The Dragons finished in the second position of the group to qualify for the UEFA Playoffs. During the group stage battle, Bosnia and Herzegovina once thrashed the hosts San Marino by 6-0.
