Jamie Vardy Leicester City Records and Achievements

After spending 13 years at Leicester City since signing for the club on 18 May 2012, Jamie Vardy drew curtains on his sensational career at his club by playing his final game on the same date in 2025 to seek pastures new. To top it off, the Foxes’ beloved striker scored in his farewell match to help his side win 2-0 against Ipswich Town at King Power Stadium to give Leicester fans one last moment to savour him. Very few players can imagine the journey Jamie Vardy took to reach the highest level. Starting as a Sheffield Wednesday reject at youth level, Vardy worked his way up with the non-league side Stocksbridge Park Steels and later with Fleetwood Town before his big move to Leicester City in the then record fee for a non-league player.

As he has done with previous clubs, he helped the Foxes gain promotion to the Premier League in 2014 with his brilliant scoring return despite initially struggling at the club. Vardy did not restrict himself to only individual fairytale success, as he became a part of the unthinkable story Leicester City scripted in the 2015-16 season by winning the Premier League against all odds. Vardy led from the front in the success, breaking several records and scoring 24 goals in the process, but it was one of the great feats he achieved with the Foxes. Their talisman also won them the FA Cup in the 2020-21 season and left as a legend after spending 10 seasons in the top-flight with them.

Here are Jamie Vardy's records and achievements with Leicester City:

Double Century strikes

Jamie Vardy is known for his goal-scoring exploits, making him one of the lethal scorers in Leicester City and the Premier League’s history. The fox in the box has racked up an incredible 200 goals donning the shirt, the third most in the club’s history. 145 of those strikes have been in the Premier League, a record tally for a Leicester City player.

Milestone appearances

Additionally, Vardy has made the most career appearances for Leicester City in the Premier League, with 342. He ranks 30th among the highest appearance makers in premier league history.

Overall, the forward has garnered 500 appearances for the club, beaten only by Graham Cross (600) and Adam Black (557).

Most consecutive games scored in the Premier League

Jamie Vardy's unique record came in the title-winning season of 2015-16, when he became the first player to score in 11 consecutive games in the Premier League, beating Manchester United’s Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s record of 10. The Leicester star scored their opening goal of the season and in the 4-2 victory over Sunderland to begin the streak in August 2025, which ended with him setting the record against Nistelrooy’s Red Devils, scoring the opening goal in the 1-1 draw on 28th November 2025. He grabbed the Premier League Player of the Season and FWA Footballer of the Year awards in that season.

First player to score against PL’s Top Six in a single season

Apart from being a top scorer, Vardy was also a big game player, scoring against top opponents to create clutch moments. In the 2017-18 season, Vardy became the first player to score against Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Tottenham in the same Premier League season

Oldest player to win the Golden Boot

He stirred up his goal-scoring form in the 2019-20 season, finding the back of the net 23 times and winning the Premier League Golden Boot for the first time in his career. The 33-year-old also became the oldest player to win the award in league history.

Veteran scorer

Understandably, Vardy is the only player in PL history to score 100+ goals after turning 30. He became the first Leicester player to reach the 100-goal milestone and the 29th overall in Premier League history.

Most goal contribution at his age

With nine goals and four assists in his final season for the club,  he also equalled the record for the most goal contribution in a Premier League season by players aged 37 with 13, tied with Teddy Sheringham.

Most League Cup goals

Not only in the Premier League, but Vardy has been prolific in other competitions for Leicester City, showing his goal-hungry nature no matter the stage. Most notably, he has hit eight goals in 19 League Cup appearances for Leicester City, making him the top scorer in the competition for his club alongside Mike Stringfellow.

Crucial Contributor in FA Cup win

Vardy became the first player to appear in 13 of the 14 rounds of the competition, from preliminary stages to the final, helping Leicester defeat Chelsea 1-0 for their first-ever FA Cup title.

A century of goal involvements at King Power Stadium

Vardy has made 100 goal involvements (74 goals, 28 assists) in Premier League matches at Leicester’s home ground, another unmatched record by a Leicester player.
