Barcelona’s comeback win against Butarque keeps them on top, ahead of Real Madrid on goal difference. Real Madrid won 3-1 at Bernabeau against Real Sociedad. Sevilla are now six games unbeaten and they boast the best away record in the league. They are one point behind the leaders, Barcelona & Real Madrid. Real Betis grabbed all three points against Valencia, thanks to Canales’ 94th min free-kick. After an eventful weekend, let’s check out our standout La Liga performers.

Formation: 4-3-3

GK – Fernando Pacheco (Deportivo Alaves)

The Basque side faced a tricky challenge at Eibar this past weekend, but luckily their goalkeeper was up to their task. Pacheco made some outrageous saves to keep Alaves in the game against Eibar. He made 7 saves and managed to keep a clean sheet in an important away game.

RB – Jorge Miramon (Levante)

Levante won 2-1 against Mallorca this weekend. Miramon was heavily involved in Bilbao’s attack as well as defense. He created the most chances (6) in the match and bagged two assists.

CB – Ximo Navarro (Deportivo Alaves)

The centre-back was rock solid alongside Rodrigo Ely as Deportivo won 2-0 away from home. He dealt with the threats of Escalante & Enrich and shut down several attacks from the opponents.

CB – German Sanchez (Granada)

Granada drew against Atletico, and Sanchez helped them with the equalizer. He scored with a superb header after a corner. He was sharp at the back too and won all his aerial duels.

LB – Renan Lodi (Atletico Madrid)

What a signing he has been for Los Rojiblancos. He was excellent going forward and scored the opening goal of the game against Granada. The Brazilian full-back was sharp and was probably Atletico’s best player on the pitch.

CM – Luka Modric (Real Madrid)

Modric was critical in Real Madrid’s comeback win over Real Sociedad. He had a hand in all three goals. He scored one and assisted the other two. He  created the most chances (7) in the match as Los Blancos showed some real grit to make a comeback.

CM – Federico Valverde (Real Madrid)

Another Real Madrid midfielder in our list, Valverde was critical in Real Madrid’s win. He continues to become world-class day by day. He bagged a goal and created two chances as well. He also managed a passing accuracy of 92%. His impressive performances this season proves that he’s ready to boss the midfield for Real Madrid in the future.

CM – Sergio Canales (Real Betis)

Canales was key in Betis’ win over Valencia. He scored the winner through a freekick with a left-footed shot to the top left corner. He also completed the most passes (57) in the match with 95% accuracy. He also had the most tackles (3) in the game.

RW – Lionel Messi (Barcelona)

Barcelona’s win over Leganes was made possible by several contributors, and a crucial member was Messi. He helped the team by bagging an assist. He sent a pin-point free-kick into the box for Suarez to connect with and score. He also completed the most dribbles (6) in the game. He created the most chances (7) in the match.

LW – Iago Aspas (Celta Vigo)

Aspas’ performance against Villareal was superb; he was clearly the standout forward of the week. He scored at the most critical moments for Celta and helped them grab three important points. He scored a brace in the last 15 mins fired Celta ahead for Oscar Garcia’s first win as head coach.

ST – Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)

The top-scorer of the league, Benzema is the first player to 10 La Liga goals this season. He scored one and created one for Modric. He also created three chances and won all aerial duels he attempted. He also has four assists this season so far (one behind Messi).

Super-sub – Joselu (Deportivo Alaves)

It would be a crime to not include Joselu in the top performers' list. He came on as a sub in the 73rd min replacing Lucas Perez. He scored two goals in the dying minutes to snatch a win away from home against Eibar.
