Barcelona continued their sensational start to the 2026/27 La Liga campaign with another emphatic away victory, as Hansi Flick's side demolished Valencia 5-0 at Mestalla. The achievement means Barcelona have matched a feat they last accomplished almost exactly a decade ago, when they recorded consecutive five-goal away victories against Leganés and Sporting Gijón.
It underlines just how devastating Flick's Barcelona have been in attack at the beginning of the new campaign. Barcelona have already scored 17 goals in their opening four La Liga matches, averaging more than four goals per game.
Yamal Leads Barcelona's Attacking Charge
Yamal's influence has once again been impossible to overlook.
The 19-year-old winger opened the scoring at Mestalla in the sixth minute before returning late in the match to complete his brace. His first goal came after Fermín López picked him out inside the penalty area, with Yamal producing a superb finish from a tight angle.
Fermín was another major contributor, scoring Barcelona's second before setting up Raphinha for the third. Pedri then added a fourth before Yamal completed the rout in the closing stages.
With Yamal continuing to produce decisive performances and Barcelona's attack firing on all cylinders, the defending champions already look like a formidable force.
Barcelona Turn Focus to the Champions League
The victory over Valencia leaves Barcelona sitting comfortably at the top of La Liga, but there will be little time to celebrate.
Yamal and his Barcelona teammates will now shift their attention towards the Champions League, with the Nou Camp set to host Dutch side Feyenoord in their first European game of the season.
After scoring five goals in consecutive away league matches for the first time in 10 years, Flick's side will hope to carry the same attacking momentum onto the biggest stage in European football.
