Luka Modric has officially signed a new contract at Real Madrid. The contract will keep the Croatian at the Bernabeu until the end of next season meaning the midfielder will complete a decade playing for Los Blancos.

Modric was set to be a free agent this summer before he penned the new deal. According to various reports, Real Madrid do have an option to extend the Midfielder's stay for another year. Although Real Madrid went trophyless this season due to major injury issues Modric had a very good individual season having scored 6 goals and assisted another 6 in 48 games in all competitions.

Modric along with long time midfield partners Kroos and Casemiro continued to be a formidable trio in the centre of the park. Modric who turns 36 in September is showing no signs of slowing down having started the majority of the games for Los Blancos this season. Next season Youngsters like Martin Odegard and Fede Valverde will be looking to cement their place in the side ahead of the Veteran.

Before thinking about the next and possibly his final season at Real Madrid, Luka Modric has the Euro 2020 in his sights, as the Croatian captain will be keen to take his country to glory this summer.
