Igor Thiago Transfer News Manchester City

A new transfer report has claimed that Manchester City are keen to sign Brentford's Brazilian striker Igor Thiago, who has also apparently attracted interest from the other top European clubs such as Chelsea and Bayern Munich. Thiago has established himself as one of the best players in the Premier League this season, with the Brazilian scoring an unbelievable 17 goals in just 26 appearances for a mid-table club like Brentford. Only Manchester City's Erling Haaland has scored more goals than him in the Premier League with 22 goals.

Igor Thiago wanted by Man City, Bayern, and Chelsea

A report from TEAMtalk has mentioned that Brentford are delighted to have tied Igor Thiago down to a new long-term deal, but interest from Europe’s biggest clubs hasn’t gone away. Manchester City are still keen on the Brazilian striker, with Chelsea and Bayern Munich also keeping close tabs on him.

The Bees confirmed on February 13 that Thiago has signed a contract until 2031, with an option to extend by another year. While Brentford have secured his future for now, the strong interest from top clubs suggests he’ll remain one to watch in the Summer transfer market.

The report further mentions that Brentford believe Igor Thiago has the potential to become the best striker in world football, a view backed up by the elite clubs now tracking him. The club always felt he could go beyond what Ivan Toney achieved, and Thiago has lived up to that faith with his performances.

Sources say virtually every major European club has scouted him in the past six months, and each appearance has only boosted his reputation further, underlining just how fast his stock is rising.

Our opinion on Manchester City, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich all potentially being interested in signing Thiago

Thiago has been the surprise package of the 25-26 Premier League season. Many felt Brentford would get relegated this EPL, but the club under Keith Andrews has done a tremendous job in the Premier League so far, and are currently in 7th place. Thiago has played a major role in this feat with his goalscoring contributions. The loss of important individuals such as Thomas Frank, Bryan Mbeumo, and Yoane Wissa have not stopped Brentford in any way.

Coming to the three clubs reported to be interested in him, we feel Thiago is best suited to Chelsea out of all the 3 clubs. The Brazilian will struggle to get enough starts at Bayern as long as Harry Kane keeps playing the way he does, and he's sure to have the same issue with Man City as well unless Pep Guardiola decides to set up a 2 striker system that pairs an attacker with Erling Haaland. Thus, the best move for him might be Chelsea, who have desperately needed a target-man style striker like him for a long time. Based on his talent, Thiago could easily become the first-choice striker at Chelsea ahead of the likes of João Pedro and Liam Delap. He's sure to also improve them as a team.

Let us wait and see if Igor Thiago ends up making a blockbuster move to a top European club from Brentford in the Summer.
