Oscar Bobb to Fulham

A report from ESPN has confirmed that Manchester City have agreed a fee with Fulham for winger Oscar Bobb. The talented Norwegian midfielder had made 15 appearances for Pep Guardiola's city team this season. However, Injury issues and huge competition for places in the starting lineup meant that Bobb failed to make an impact with City despite his huge potential. Additionally, the recent signing of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth has taken away even the slightest chance that Bobb had in nailing a regular place in a City side filled with world-class talent.

Manchester City and Fulham agree a deal for Oscar Bobb

The ESPN report has confirmed that Oscar Bobb is set to join Fulham, with Manchester City agreeing a £27 million deal that includes a 20% sell-on clause and matching rights on any future bids. The 22-year-old Norway international has been cleared to complete his medical and finalise personal terms, with the transfer expected to be wrapped up before Monday’s deadline. City sanctioned the Fulham move for Bobb, who was also targeted by Borussia Dortmund, after strengthening their attack by signing Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth for £64 million.

Oscar Bobb has not featured for Manchester City since December, when he limped off during a Carabao Cup tie against Brentford. A broken leg limited him to just six appearances across all competitions last season. Bobb departs City after 47 appearances since his 2023 debut, scoring three goals. He will hope his move to Fulham helps secure a regular spot in Norway’s squad ahead of next summer’s FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Our opinion on Oscar Bobb joining Fulham from Manchester City

We feel that it's a real shame that Oscar Bobb is getting sold by Manchester City. There was a time when he was playing really well for the Citizens and looked like a player with huge potential. In fact, many expected him to follow the path of Phil Foden and establish himself as Manchester City's own superstar player. Unfortunately, the serious Injury that he had suffered earlier is the villain according to us, as it happened at the worst time when Bobb was playing very well and expected to play a huge part in Manchester City's season. The Norwegian was never the same again for City after that setback.

Let us hope that Oscar Bobb can slowly get back to his best at Fulham, who are a great club when it comes to developing young players. The Norwegian is still just 22 years old and still has lots of time left to become a superstar footballer.
