Massimiliano Allegri has been out of a job ever since leaving Juventus in 2019. The Italian manager led Juventus to five Serie A titles and two Champions League finals. Allegri has reportedly rejected advances by Tottenham Hotspur as he waits to see how the situation at Real Madrid pans out.

Tottenham Hotspur sacked Jose Mourinho back in April. Former player Ryan Mason took charge until the end of the season. Things are looking very bleak for the North London club who might end up without European football next season. Allegri is not the first manager to reject spurs with reports suggesting that Julian Nagelsmann did the same before deciding to take the Bayern Munich job.

The actual reason for Allegri's rejection seems to be related to Real Madrid. Multiple reports in Spain suggest that Zinedine Zidane is set to leave Los Blancos after a trophyless season. Real Madrid are keen to keep hold of Zidane who still has another year left in his contract. In case the Frenchman does decide to leave Allegri is a frontrunner for the Madrid job. The former Juventus manager was rumoured to have rejected the Real Madrid job in the past but is keen to take charge now.

Real Madrid need a major rebuild after players like Marcelo, Isco, Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane among others being linked with a move away from the Bernabeu. Although Allegri has never managed a non-Italian club before. But his performance in the Champions League along with his 5 consecutive Serie A victories makes him the ideal candidate to take charge of Real Madrid.
