Michael Kayode Brentford star wanted by Manchester City, Bayern Munich, and Inter Milan

Michael Kayode, Brentford's right-back prodigy at age 21, has begun to attract interest from the likes of Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Juventus, and most strongly from Manchester City. Kayode, whose current teams are Brentford and the Italian national youth side, looks set to make a big transfer move in the future.

Let us now look at the story of Michael Kayode and what the future probably holds for him.

Michael Kayode - Parents, Early career, and Surprise Juventus connection:

The Brentford right-back was born in Italy, and is of Nigerian descent. Kayode is the son of Yoruba parents, and a surprising fact about the player is that he began his youth career at Juventus, in fact, he went on to spend time there for the next seven years until 2018. Kayode then went on to play for Serie D club Gozzano, with whom he scored two goals and two assists in 34 matches. He also managed to earn promotion to Serie C and the player explained the whole experience as follows:  "a step backwards to make two forwards".

Kayode's promising stint at Florentino

Kayode made a huge move in 2021, as he went from playing in Serie D to joining a huge Italian club in Fiorentina. He went on to join their Youth side. The Italian later won the one Coppa Italia Primavera and one Supercoppa Italiana Primavera.

Almost 2 years later, on 19th August 23, Kayode made his Serie A debut for Fiorentina in a 4–1 away victory over Genoa. By the time the season was over, Kayode had become a regular in Fiorentina's first team, and was beginning to attract international attention from clubs around Europe with his brilliant performances. Not only did he feature heavily in Serie A that season, but Kayode was also part of the team that reached the final of the UEFA Conference League to face West Ham.

On 24 January 2025, Brentford announced the signing of Michael Kayode on loan for the remainder of the 2024–25 season. The agreement included an option for the club to make the move permanent at the end of the campaign.

Michael Kayode joins Brentford

Kayode quickly impressed during his loan spell, convincing Brentford to secure his long-term future. As a result, the club officially completed his permanent transfer in May 2025, tying him down to a contract that runs until 2030. Brentford ended up paying a transfer fee of €17.5m to Fiorentina as a part of the transfer. The deal highlighted Brentford’s confidence in Kayode’s potential and their commitment to building a strong squad for the years ahead.

What the future holds for Michael Kayode

Brentford are one of the best clubs in England when it comes to developing young players into future superstars and selling them for high prices to top European clubs. The likes of Ivan Toney, Bryan Mbeumo, and Yoane Wissa are some prime examples of this.

The Italian is thus expected to follow the same path, and it is surprising to see the likes of Manchester City, Bayern, Juventus, and Inter Milan interested in him. Kayode is a unique player, and already boasts of a top speed of 31.88km/h, which is really impressive at his age.

We do not expect Brentford to sell Kayode during this transfer window, unless any of these rumoured clubs end up offering a staggering transfer fee. Our prediction is he gets sold in the 2026 or 2027 Summer Transfer window. One thing is for certain, the Brentford right-back looks to have a bright future ahead.
