PSG vs Inter Champions League 2024-25 Final

After seasons of heartbreak and pain of embarrassing exits, Paris Saint-Germain finally have their hands on the trophy they so desperately wanted with a record 5-0 thumping of Inter Milan in the 2024-25 Champions League final. Hosted in the Allianz Arena, Munich, the Parisians displayed an incredible show of attacking football that put them in the showpiece in the first place, giving the opposition no space to even think of overturning the result. The inspiration came from 19-year-old Desire Doue, who stole the headlines of the evening alongside Ballon d’Or contender Ousmane Dembélé, orchestrating the most memorable night in the club's history.  Captain Marquinhos’s emotion after the game and while lifting the first Champions League title for PSG said it all, the team avenging the hardship of repeated failures.

Just 12 minutes on the clock and the defence that has been renowned for not leaking goals all season was breached, after the continuous pressure from the Parisians from the get-go.  Vitinha’s defensive splitting pass found Doue, who turned with the ball and spotted an unmarked Achraf Hakimi scored against his former club to give them the lead. The celebrations of PSG fans increased as their team went 2-0 up shortly following a lethal break, with Doue now being the scorer from a deflection off Federico Dimarco. Inter were fortunate not to go behind at half-time as the Ligue 1 giants kept getting at them with Kvicha Kvaratskhelia missing two close chances. However, the relief was temporary as PSG began the second half in the same fashion, with Kvaratskhelia again coming close.

The third goal eventually arrived past the hour mark through the sensational teen again, with Vitinha’s driving run in the midfield finding Doue again, who calmly placed behind Yann Sommer to complete his brace. Inter never looked threatening all night, aside from a few chances from corners, with their disappointment of missing out on the Serie A last weekend and an intense journey to reach the showpiece of the competition taking a toll on the squad as they wilted facing a ruthless machine. The Georgian Kvaratskhelia finally found the net in the 73rd minute before the youth prospect Senny Mayulu completed the rout, only minutes after coming on as a substitute, as PSG created history in style.
