It’s that time of the year again when we would be discussing if Cristiano Ronaldo would return to Manchester United or not. The Portuguese legend has been brilliant, scoring 74 goals in 96 games during his time with the Old Lady. But recently there has been new news that the management at Juventus might just want to get rid of the ex- Real Madrid man.

Sport had claimed that Juventus want to sell Ronaldo by the end of the season to recoup part of the £100 million they paid Real Madrid. They also want to get his eye watering £28m-per-year salary off their books, which would ultimately make way for younger players, who could get better.

It’s not only leaving that benefits Ronaldo; he has to land somewhere as well. Now not many big clubs in the world can actually afford Ronaldo as well, only a few can and Manchester United is one of them.

Ronaldo has already made a name for himself at United after he had moved there from Sporting Lisbon back in 2003. He won the Premier League, Champions League and other numerous trophies before leaving them for a world record transfer fee to Real Madrid in 2009. He also won everything with Madrid and completed his domination in Spain as well. Fast forward 11 years and a major portion of the United fan base still loves him and would cherish the day Ronaldo would come back and don the Red jersey, he was once famous in.

Despite being 35, Ronaldo is still better than most footballers in their 20s when it comes to fitness, stamina, eagerness and power. He is still reliable and not at all a cheap option to keep. He makes about 30m per year with Juventus and that’s a huge chunk of wage which Juventus would like to put somewhere else.

A striking thing here is that, even though many had debunked and disregarded this, Chevrolet- one of the biggest sponsors of Manchester United wants this transfer to happen and they are pushing it from their side. They are keen for the player to return and are financially stable and sufficient to take on the likes of Ronaldo.

In a recent turn of events, Fabrizio Romano, undoubtedly the most popular journalist of the World, debunked the transfer. Romano claims that United are focusing on different players, not Cristiano Ronaldo at the moment, who will also be 36 by the moment, he joins back at Old Trafford. He also added that Juventus believe Ronaldo will stay beyond this season and the Portuguese legend is happy at the club.
