Summer Transfer Window Will Manchester United be offloading players

As the campaign draws to a close, Manchester United have begun to plan a business strategy for the forthcoming transfer window. With United associated with several of Europe's most promising prospects, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer aims to clear the decks for newcomers. The Red Devils are interested in Raphael Varane, Declan Rice, and Jadon Sancho and Erling Braut Haaland of Borussia Dortmund. Many of Solskjaer's plans will come with hefty price tags, forcing United to sell some of their first-team players in order to raise funds for the summer transfer window.

Four players seem to be on their way out at the end of the season, unless a miracle happens:

1) David De Gea

David de Gea's future at Old Trafford has already been hanging on by a thread when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tasked Dean Henderson with a routine slot in between posts. Since joining United from Atletico Madrid in 2011, the Spanish goalkeeper has made over 430 appearances for the Red Devils in all tournaments. The 30-year-old, on the other hand, has slid behind his English equivalent in the hierarchical structure and is hesitant to take second place. Despite losing his starting spot, David De Gea is still United's highest-paid player, earning £375,000 per week, and the club cannot accommodate such a costly bench warmer.

So, there’s a chance that he might want to work with Mourinho at his new side, who led Manchester United to a Europa League win.

2) Axel Tuanzebe

Axel Tuanzebe had made just 11 Premier League appearances in the last two seasons, with setbacks thwarting his attempts to break through Solskjaer's starting XI. Since the start of the year, the 23-year-old centre-back has only made two appearances for the club. Solskjaer prefers Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, and Eric Bailly to the English defender, and is prepared to discharge him in the summer. Tuanzebe could move to the Midlands to resurrect his career after a spectacular two-year spell at Aston Villa. Villa have high hopes for the United academy product and are considering getting him back in the forthcoming transfer window.

3) Donny Van De Beek

In the development to the 2020/21 campaign, United paid £40 million to Ajax for Donny van de Beek. The Dutch footballer landed at Old Trafford as being one of Europe's brightest stars, but he has failed to live up to expectations. The 23-year-old has failed to establish him as a first-team starter under Solskjaer, having been largely eclipsed by Bruno Fernandes Fred and Paul Pogba. Dortmund is keeping a very close eye on the Netherlands international, who could leave United to resurrect his future after a disappointing debut premier league season. Last week in Rome, Van de Beek put in an excellent performance, pouring speed and vitality into United's midfield. Despite the fact that he still has a decent road to go before breaking into Solskjaer's matchday squad, the teenager has also shown glimpses of his enormous potential.

4) Alex Telles

Another athlete who represented the Red Devils last summer but struggled to satisfy Solskjaer is Alex Telles. The 28-year-first old's year at Old Trafford does have a lot in common with van de Beek's, as he has spent the majority of last season as Luke Shaw's impact sub. The Englishman has made the left-back role his own this season, conceding just seven Premier League games to the Brazilian. Despite possessing the class and technical abilities needed to wear the red shirt, the ex-Porto man has not done enough just to convince Solskjaer to play him on a daily basis.
