Welcome to Gameweek 16 edition of Team of the Week Premier League. GW16 of the Premier League was yet another thrilling one which saw Manchester United and Bournemouth share the points in a 4-4 draw and Arsenal winning 2-1 at the death against Wolves. Let's not waste anymore time then, let us find out the players who stood out in our EPL team of the week for GW16.
Premier League/EPL Team of the Week 16
Goalkeeper
Robin Roefs (Sunderland)
Roefs was the hero for Sunderland in yet another Premier League game, as he made 2 saves and helped his club earn a fantastic 1-0 win over rivals Newcastle United. He has been one of the best keepers in the league this season.
Defenders
Malo Gusto (Chelsea)
Gusto had one of his best ever performances for Chelsea in the game against Everton, as he ended the game with a goal and an assist despite being a defender. Nothing less than absolutely sensational for the young right-back.
Nikola Milenković (Nottingham Forest)
Nottingham Forest are slowly getting back to their best under Sean Dyche, especially in terms of being quite organized at the back. Milenković was a prime example of that against Spurs, as he played a huge role in helping his team keep a clean sheet against Thomas Frank's side.
Calvin Bassey (Fulham)
Fulham had a tricky game against Burnley, but they ended up winning the game 2-3. Bassey was one of the standout performers in the game that led them to victory, and he even scored one of the goals as well.
Milos Kerkez (Liverpool)
Milos Kerkez has had an underwhelming time overall since joining Arne Slot's side from Bournemouth, but his performance against Brighton has been one of his best since joining the club. This could be the beginning of a great run for him.
Midfielders
Callum Hudson-Odoi (Nottingham Forest)
Former Chelsea player Callum Hudson-Odoi almost single-handedly destroyed Tottenham with his outstanding performance against them. He was directly involved in all goals as Spurs were thrashed 3-0.
Ibrahim Sangaré (Nottingham Forest)
Ibrahim Sangaré had a similar impact to Hudson-Odoi against Spurs, as he too was involved in all 3 goals for them. However, the fact that Sangaré managed to achieve this despite playing as a defensive midfielder makes it even more impressive.
Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa)
We've previously mentioned how Morgan Rogers has become the new star player for Aston Villa, and he proved that once again against West Ham. Rogers scored a terrific second-half brace to help his club make a 2-3 comeback.
Harry Wilson (Fulham)
Harry Wilson played a starring role for Fulham in their thrilling 2-3 win over Burnley, as he assisted twice and scored one as well. Undoubtedly a man-of-the-match from him.
Forwards
Erling Haaland (Manchester City)
Erling Haaland was too much to handle for a Crystal Palace side who were known for their defensive brilliance, as the Norwegian scored a brace in what was a comfortable 0-3 win for Manchester City.
Hugo Ekiteke (Liverpool)
Hugo Ekiteke scored a brace against Brighton, and has arguably been their only successful signing so far from their historic £400 million 2025 Summer Transfer Window. He has been simply phenomenal for the Reds.
