Manchester United should be looking for striking improvements ahead of the summer transfer window, with rumours claiming Edinson Cavani is looking for a move to Boca Juniors.

The following 3 goal-scoring machines should be on Ole’s watchlist this coming summer.

Erling Braut Haaland – Borussia Dortmund

In the last few years, Haaland has taken the world by storm. He first made an impression with Molde in the Eliteserien, then with Red Bull Salzburg throughout the Champions League, before being quickly snapped up by Borussia Dortmund, from where he hasn't looked back ever since.

In just two years for Dortmund, the Norwegian star has scored 51 goals in 54 games while also delivering 13 assists. It won't be that easy to entice Haaland to Old Trafford, with nearly every major club in the world vying for his signature – however, there are some indications that it could be possible. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the current United boss, previously worked with Haaland while he was the manager of Molde, and the two had a 'very good relationship,' according to reports. Solskjaer has also made it clear that getting talented youngsters into United's line-up is a priority for him, and Haaland suits the bill perfectly. Even Haaland’s dad played in the English Premier League, so that might tempt Haaland as well.

Harry Kane – Tottenham Hotspur

In the last decade, he has undoubtedly been the greatest striker to grace the Premier League. He has been carrying the traditional image of a pure striker, which United has been sorely lacking since Zlatan Ibrahimovic's departures in 2018. Kane's stats speak for itself: 219 goals in 330 games for Spurs has earned his place among the best in the world. Is it, however, time for a change? Kane's trophy cabinet, which is currently as dusty as our attic's box of vinyl albums, is a major indicator that the response is yes.

Certainly, Kane should be thinking about his future at 27 with no proper trophy in his career.

Andre Silva – Eintracht Frankfurt

Silva is a newcomer to the list, but he is gaining momentum in the Bundesliga this season. After leaving Porto in 2017, the Portuguese international had disappointing spells at AC Milan and Sevilla but has made a comeback in the German league in recent seasons.

Silva has scored 40 goals in 66 appearances during his two-year stay in Germany, and he is up against the big boys this season, joining Haaland on 23 Bundesliga goals. Silva will almost certainly be less expensive than Kane or Haaland, and he could play alongside Portuguese international Bruno Fernandes at Old Trafford. Rumours of a possible move to the Red Devils already have arisen, and he certainly gives Solskjaer something more to consider.
