It is a general sense that players lose their abilities when they age. You may have also noticed that EA Sports FIFA downgrades players as soon as they cross the age of 30 or above. But guess what, in reality, these players are proving it wrong.

These world-beating strikers are the main scoring source of the team even at the age considered too old in football. All of them are having a stellar individual season and side by side helping their club to major honors. We look at five of such strikers without whom the teams are not only unfinished but also miserable. We ranked them by their age and not the number of goals they scored.

5) Ciro Immobile (31 years)

Immobile is just an insane goalscorer. Lazio's climb to admiring success is mostly down to his scoring boots. Although his numbers are not skyrocketing like previous campaigns, he has still scored 18 goals. He has been unlucky with injuries, post and near misses this season but it's still a great return. In addition to that Ciro has delivered 5 assists, most of them for his striking partner Joaquin Correa. Immobile has always been a big game player and has a lot of years remaining in his stride.

4) Robert Lewandowski (32 years)

The Pol is enjoying another goal-scoring spree this season. His recent injury may have obstructed a steady flow of goals but he is due to return strongly. Keeping that aside, Lewandowski has found the bag of the net 32 times in Bundesliga. He has five more in the Champions League. Although Bayern are not in the competition anymore, the 32-year-old is close to tasting the tenth league success of his career. Mind you, he's been the best player in the world for some time now for his attitude of not slowing down.

3) Karim Benzema (33 years)

Real Madrid's chances in La Liga and the Champions league are resting on Karim Benzema's shoulder. The Frenchman has equaled his best goal scoring tally of the last two seasons. His goals this term have helped Los Blanco's gunning for another league title and a chance to qualify for the Champions League final. Benzema has been a vital cog in Real Madrid's attack. Without him, there is practically no goal source in the team. A future replacement is being searched but Benzema's impact on the team is hard to repeat. He has a lot to offer still.

2) Burak Yilmaz  (35 years)

The bargain of the 2020/21 Ligue 1 season. Burak Yilmaz joined Lille in the summer when his contract ran down at Besiktas a season ago. Mainly brought as a backup to Jonathan David. But it changed. Yilmaz became the main attacking threat upfront and transformed Lille from being a European football hunters to title challengers. The Turkish striker's impact has been so huge that he has made 17 goal contributions in just 24 games. Most of them have been match defining strikes. And not just tap ins, Yilmaz finished off silky moves like a prime player and even scored beautiful free-kicks on the way. He will try to win the league title this team to cap off his excellent season.

1) Zlatan Ibrahimovic (39 years)

Zlatan just gets better like a fine wine. His rejoining at AC Milan in January 2020 was significant for the club but nobody realized how miraculous the signing wil be.  This season he has gone a level better after having an instant impact at San Siro. Shrugging off injury and Covid crisis, the Swedish beast has bagged a total of 15 goals in 17 matches. His phenom scoring record allowed Milan to challenge for the Scudetto one time. This time they will wish Zlatan lifts them up again to place themselves in the Champions League berth. Also, he has signed a one year contract extension so a lot of boasting celebrations is yet to happen.
