Vinicius Jr Becomes the 3rd youngest player to play 100 matches for Real Madrid

On Monday, Vinicius Jr. Came on as a 61st-minute substitute for Real Madrid away at Real Sociedad. The winger scored in the 89th minute to rescue a crucial point in the La Liga title race. But there was something more significant in the match for the Brazilian than that.

Vinicius Jr. Completed his 100th appearance for the Los Blancos. The youngster subsequently became the youngest non-Spanish player to achieve this feat. Club legends Raul and Iker Casillas are the only others who have managed to complete 100 matches at a younger age.

Vinicius Jr. was signed by Real Madrid in 2018 by Brazilian club Flamengo. After spending the majority of the first half of the 2018/19 season playing for the B team he was given a first-team debut by Julen Lopetegui in the Madrid Derby. Vinicius started featuring regularly in the first team under Santiago Solari and that continued under Zinedine Zidane.

After 2 years in the Spanish capital, Vinicius Jr. has become a key player for the Merengues.  The Brazilian who turns 21 in July is often criticized for his decision making and finishing. He has shown prominent signs of improvements in the past year, Real Madrid fans would be hoping that the Brazilian goes on to become a Starlet at The Bernabeu.
