The 2024 Formula 1 season is off and running and the second race of the season is in the books. This was the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix and all 20 drivers were looking forward to a great start in the drivers championship. The teams are also looking to get more points and Ferrari had a young driver in Ollie Bearman and he absolutely smashed it in his debut race. This was one of the races that was held on a Saturday. There are a total of 24 races this Formula 2 season.


Saudi Arabia F1 Grand Prix 2024 Results

The race starts and it is a tussle between Sergio Perez and Charles Leclerc and Ferrari takes P2 and Ollie Bearman has gotten off to a great start. Lap 3 and Oscar Piastri has overtaken Fernando Alonso. George Russell accused Lando Norris of a false start. Lap 4 and Sergio Perez is in P2 and Max Verstappen is 2.3 seconds ahead. Lap 7 and Lance Stroll collided badly with a wall but he is unhurt but is out of the race. Lap 9 and Lando Norris is leading the race with Max Verstappen behind him. Lap 13 and Max Verstappen takes back the lead and Sergio Perez is back in P3. It is Lap 15 and Sergio Perez has been given a 5 second penalty for an unsafe release. Lap 17 and a fierce battle is on between Oscar Piastri and Lewis Hamilton.

It is Lap 20 and Ollie Bearman gets past Nico Hulkenberg to get to P9. He is having a dream debut. By Lap 23, Max Verstappen is six seconds ahead of Sergio Perez and Perez is 6 seconds ahead of Lando Norris. Lap 26 and Charles Leclerc takes back P3 from Lando Norris and a Ferrari is in the podium. It is Lap 30 and Max Verstappen is 7.5 Seconds ahead and Yuki Tsonuda drops down to P14. Ollie Bearman is having a great race and he needs four seconds to get to P8. It is Lap 35 and once again Oscar Piastri gets past Lewis Hamilton and it will be interesting to see whether he can keep this place. Lap 39 and Lewis Hamilton set the fastest lap of the race but Lando Norris is over a second ahead of him. Lap 41 and Ollie Bearman is 4.3 seconds ahead of Lando Norris but it could be only a matter of 4 laps. Lap 50 of the race and Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris are battling for P8. The race is over and Max Verstappen wins the Saudi Arabia F1 Grand Prix with Sergio Perez in P2. Ollie Bearman finishes P7 in his debut race.
