The Monaco Grand Prix was race number 6 of this season as Italy was canceled and this race was supposed to be an even race even as Red Bull were on top and in this one Fernando Alonso and the McClaren drivers had a good chance to score points and get ahead in the title race. This race proved very important for the whole season as there were some upsets but some expected results. The Monaco Grand Prix is one of the star races where a lot of celebrities come to watch the races.

This was one of the more exciting races as esaias in the hunt for a top 10 finish, so let’s look at the results of the Monaco Grand Prix 2023


Race Results

It lights out and Max Verstappen gets a clear start and is in the lead and the only one who did not get a good start was Lance Stroll who has to go in the pits. Lap 4 and the top 5 are Max Verstappen, Fernando Alonso, Esteban Ocon, Carlos Sainz and Lewis Hamilton. Lap 5 and Nico Hulkenberg has been given a 5 second penalty for smashing Sargeant. Lap 9 and Max Verstappen has a 2.3 second lead in the front ahead of Fernando Alonso. Lap 13 and it is disaster for Carlos Sainz who will be shown the black flag for damage. Lap 17 and Kevin Magnussen goes to P15 with a good move on Sargeant. Lap 25 and Lance Stroll and Kevin Magnussen are fighting for P14

Lap 27 and the engineer of Lando Norris says there might be rain on Lap 35. Lap 30 and Esteban Ocon is being chased by Lewis Hamilton, Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc for the podium. Lap 36 and Sergio Perez collides with Kevin Magnussen and he sustains damage to the front wing and Sergio Perez is forced to pit. Lap 38 and Lance Stroll now collides with Kevin Magnussen and he got damage to his own car. Lap 41 and Max Verstappen is 9 seconds ahead in the race ahead of Fernando Alonso who is in P2. Lap 46 and Charles Leclerc pits and it is a quick one and is back in P8 . Lap 50 and the rain gas started to arrive and by Lap 52 the rain has gotten more so it means an exciting end to the race.

Lap 55 and it is a good battle between Esteban Ocon and Carlos Sainz for P3 and Ocon really wants it but the cars are struggling because of the heavy rain. Lap 56 and Fernando Alonso takes the Brave decision to pit and then race in the medium tyres and Esteban Ocon does the sane and in the rain this can be a big gamble. It is Lap 57 and everything has gone lose as Fernando Alonso has to pit again immediately and Carlos Sainz slides off the race track. Max Verstappen has the intermediate tyres. Lap 58 and Lance Stroll is forced out of the race and Fernando Alonso is 22.5 seconds behind Max Verstappen and Esteban Ocon is chasing him for P2. This is a brilliant race from Esteban Ocon. Lap 61 and the rain shows its magic as Sargeant and Kevin Magnussen Hit the barriers and George Russell gets a 5 second penalty for hitting Sergio Perez.

Lap 63 and it looks like the rain is about to stop and all the excitement from the race will be gone. It is Lap 65 and in the last 14 laps Max Verstappen is ahead followed by Fernando Alonso, Esteban Ocon, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell and Russell has a 5 second penalty and Nico Hulkenberg is given a 10 second penalty for not serving his 5 second penalty properly. It is all happening in Monaco. Lando Norris gets to P9 which is amazing for him. Lap 72 and Esteban Ocon is in P3 and has raced the best he has in years. Lap 75 and Carlos Sainz is pushing for P7 and Pierre Gasly is in pressure. Finally the race ends with Max Verstappen getting another win with Fernando Alonso In second and Esteban Ocon in third.
