Singapore Grand Prix 2023 Results 

The Singapore F1 Grand Prix was the next race in the season and this was shaping out to be the most exciting race of the season as Red Bull were not in direct contention for the podium. Ferrari had the chance to win a race and have a good memory from this season. The other drivers knew that they would be in contention for the points as well and this race saw some new stars rise

Let’s look at the results for the Singapore F1 Grand Prix 2023. 

Race Results

The race starts and Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc get a good start and George Russell gets a bad start . Lap 2 and Yuki Tsonuda is out of the race and only one AlphaTauri driver remains. Lap 4 and Max Verstappen goes from P11 to P9 and is on soft tyres. It is Lap 8 and the 2 Ferrari drivers are the top 2 and Max Verstappen is P8 chasing Esteban Ocon. Lap 12 and George Russell has been told that Charles Leclerc will bot fight for the podium and Max Verstappen is 1.5 seconds from P7. Lap 16 and Charles Leclerc gets the fastest lap of the race. It is lap 17 and Ferrari have asked Charles Leclerc to have a 5 second gap between him and Carlos Sainz within the next 5 laps

Lap 19 and Logan Sargeant is out of the race and the safety car is out. Lap 24 and George Russell overtakes Max Verstappen to get to P2 and Lewis Hamilton gets past Sergio Perez for P5. This time Mercedes beat Red Bull. Lap 26 and Lando Norris gets past Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez is demanding places from Lewis Hamilton because he broke the rules. Lap 38 and Esteban Ocon is chasing Sergio Perez for P7 and Fernando Alonso could find himself outside of the points as he has a 5 second Penalty. Lap 41 and both Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen get into the pits and comes out in 20th and 15th respectively. 

It is Lap 44 and Esteban Ocon is not happy as he has to be removed and both the Mercedes drivers pit and George Russell says that Carlos Sainz is driving unnecessarily slowly. Lap 47 and Oscar Piastri is driving very well as he has gained 10 places and is now in P7 and Carlos Sainz has a 1.5 second lead over Lando Norris. Lap 52 and Liam Lawson who is the new AlphaTauri driver is  once again wheel to wheel with Max Verstappen. Max Verstappen is now on P8. Lap 55 and George Russell is in P3 and Lewis Hamilton is in P4 and they are chasing Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz. It is Lap 59 and the yellow flag comes out and the Top 4 are separated by 2 seconds. Lap 61 and Lando Norris is defending brilliantly against both the Mercedes drivers and finally on Lap 62 and George Russell crashes out of the race in heartbreaking fashion. Carlos Sainz wins the race with Lando Norris at P2 and Lewis Hamilton at P3.
