The third-placed Hyderabad Toofans have eliminated the fourth-placed HIL Governing Council after winning the Men’s Hockey India League 2025/26 (Men’s HIL 2025/26) Eliminator by 2–0. While Toofans will now face the losers of Qualifier 1 in Qualifier 2, which will be a challenge for the second spot in the season Final, HIL GC will now face the losers of Qualifier 2 for the third-place playoff.
The first quarter had no goal, while Hyderabad Toofans earned three penalty corners, which they failed to score. In the first minute of the second quarter, Shilanand Lakra scored a field goal to produce a 1–0 lead for Toofans.
In the 39th minute, Lakra scored his second goal of the match, which came from a penalty corner, as Toofans earned a 2–0 lead in the game. While Toofans managed to secure the lead till the end of the match, HIL GC failed to open their scoreline, as they mostly failed to make any quality impacts in the game.
