It was India’s fourth Men’s Asia Cup Trophy (2003, 2007, 2017, and 2025) as they surpassed three-time champions Pakistan (1982, 1985, and 1989), and are only behind five-time champions South Korea (1994, 1999, 2009, 2013, and 2022). While India previously won the tournament as the hosts in 2007, it was the second time they won the trophy as the hosts, and became the first team to win the tournament as the host nation more than once, while Pakistan were the other to win the Men's Asia Cup at home, which they did only once in the 1982 edition.
In the meantime, Malaysia beat China by 4-1 in the third-place playoff of the Men’s Asia Cup 2025, while Japan finished in fifth place after beating Bangladesh by 6-1.
