Belgium and the Netherlands are ready to host the final stages of the Women’s FIH Hockey World Cup 2026, as the Semifinals and other classification rounds have been scheduled for 27th August. Later, the third-place fixture and the Final of the tournament will be played on 29th August.
Co-hosts Netherlands and Belgium have advanced to the Women’s FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 Semifinals along with Argentina and Australia. The record-holding Netherlands have won the trophy in the last three editions.
Women’s FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 Semifinalists: Final Positions in Each Round; Previous Knockout Stages Status
Netherlands (Pool A champions and Pool E champions): Record-holder 9-time champions (including last 3-time champions) and 13-time finalists, Netherlands have missed only one World Cup Semifinal (1994), and they are ready for their 8th straight World Cup Semifinal. They have lost only one World Cup Semifinal, which was recorded in the 1976 edition.
Belgium (Pool C champions and Pool F runners-up): The 1978 World Cup 3rd-placed team Belgium are ready for their second World Cup Semifinal, as they are dreaming of their first Final appearance in World Cup history.
Argentina (Pool B champions and Pool F champions): 2-time champions (2002 and 2010) and 6-time finalists, Argentina are ready for their 10th World Cup Semifinal appearance. In the previous edition (2022), they finished as runners-up, as Las Leonas are desperate to lift their third World Cup trophy in the ongoing edition.
Australia (Pool A runners-up and Pool E runners-up): 2-time champions (1994 and 1998) and 5-time finalists Australia are ready to experience their 8th World Cup Semifinal appearance. While they finished in third place in the previous edition (2022), the Hockeyroos are desperate for their first World Cup Final qualification after the 2014 edition.
