The 2025-26 Indian Women’s League 2 (IWL 2) season will be the third iteration of the second division in the country’s women’s football leagues. 14 teams are set to participate in the competition, including the two relegated sides from the top division, HOPS FC and Odisha FC. Delhi, Maharashtra and one of the hosts, Karnataka, have the most representation with two clubs each. They are divided into three groups, with groups A and B having five teams, while group C contains four. The group stage of the IWL 2 will be played in a single round-robin format at two centralised venues, Kerala and Karnataka, from March 20 to 29, 2026. Group A and C games are scheduled at the Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence in Bengaluru, while Group B games will be hosted in Corporation Stadium in Thrissur.
Odisha FC, who won the top-flight title only two years ago, are placed in Group A alongside former IWL side Mumbai Knights, hosts Roots FC, DFA Raisen and Juba Sangha FC. The other relegated side, HOPS FC, will take on the hosts Kerala United FC, KASA Girls FC, Krida and DKR in Group B. The final group, Group C, contains MGM Ambush FC, FC Imphal, hosts Kemp FC and Suruchi Sangha. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the IWL 2 Final Round. From there, the side finishing in the top two standings in a single group will be promoted to the top flight, the Indian Women’s League (IWL), for the next season. Garhwal United FC were crowned winners in the previous edition of the IWL 2, earning promotion to the IWL alongside SESA FA.
