The second phase of the 2025-26 season of the Indian Women’s League (IWL) is set to kick off on 27 April 2026, with league action resuming after more than three months. The first phase of the two-phased campaign this time ended on 9 January 2026 to allow player availability for national team camps for both the senior and U20 national teams for their respective Women’s Asian Cup campaigns. The Blue Tigresses concluded their tournament in the second week of March 2026, while the youth team ended their journey in early April 2026. A further 29 matches will be played in Phase 2, with the matches to be played in two venues - AIFF National Centre of Excellence and the East Bengal Ground. East Bengal FC will get the ball rolling again against Sreebhumi FC at the former’s home ground, with the season concluding on 18 May 2026. The team that finished first on the table will be crowned IWL 2025-26 winners, while the bottom two sides will be relegated to IWL 2.
Defending champions East Bengal lead the table with 18 points, having won all of their first six games and are aiming to win the title for the second consecutive season. 2018-19 league winners Sethu FC are just two points behind and are hoping to displace the Red and Gold from the top spot, but they have played a game more. The two meet in the potential title-deciding affair in just the second gameweek after the restart on 30 April 2026 at the East Bengal Ground. Meanwhile, Sesa FA looks destined to go down after finding themselves at the bottom of the pile, having collected just one point from the first part of the season. However, the relegation battle is set to heat up with the difference between seventh-place Kickstart FC, in the other relegation spot and fourth-place Sreebhumi is just three points, with a game in hand.
