Mohun Bagan Super Giant 3-0 Jamshedpur FC Facts and Figures from the ISL 2023/24 match

Following a disappointing draw with Odisha FC, Mohun Bagan Super Giant returned to winning ways at home with a 3-0 win over playoff-chasing Jamshedpur FC. All three foreign forwards found the net as the Mariners climbed to second on the table again, reducing the gap to two points with the top. Meanwhile, Jamshedpur FC missed the chance to extend their lead in the top six. The Men of Steels will hope to fulfil their objective when Mumbai City FC visits them in the next game while the Green and Maroons involve themselves in the second Kolkata derby of the ISL.

It was Dimitri Petratos at his holy ground Salt Lake again who scored from a neat cut-back from Manvir Singh to give the home side the lead. Last season’s Golden Boot winner could have added to his tally in the same fashion but failed to capitalize amid other missed chances to go to half-time at 1-0. Fending off some early pressure in the second half from Jamshedpur FC, Mohun Bagan hit gear again with Manvir once again becoming the provider for Jason Cummings’ goal. The Australian also hit the post in his previous attempt but substitute Armando Sadiku managed to seal the deal in the 80th minute with the right wing-back involved for the third time as well.

Bonus

The win also meant Mohun Bagan completed a double over Jamshedpur FC for the first time in ISL. At the reverse fixture in Furnace, the Kolkata giants claimed a 3-2 win.

Streak Broken

With this streak, Khalid Jamil’s five-game unbeaten streak with Jamshedpur FC in the ISL is now over. His other loss came in the semi-final of the Super Cup at the hands of another side from Kolkata, East Bengal.

Renaissance

Mohun Bagan Super Giant are unbeaten in all of the six matches played under Antonio Lopez Habas. Three of the four wins in this period have come in Salt Lake.

Second

Manvir Singh became the second Mohun Bagan player in ISL history to register three assists in a single game after Joni Kauko who did so only in the last home game against NorthEast United. The 28-year-old also had two assists in the reverse fixture against Jamshedpur FC.

Sneaking In

Dimitri Petratos has climbed to third in the top-scoring list in the ISL this season. He is leveled with fellow Australian Jason Cummings, Cleiton Silva and Diego Mauricio with seven goals.

Scoring spree

Mohun Bagan have seen 13 different goal-scorers getting on the scoresheet in this ISL season. They are the joint highest with Mumbai City to have done so in the league.
