The 2023 Asian Games are about to start on 23rd September and it is just one month away and this time India is looking to get their best medal haul at the Asian Games. There will be more than 500 athletes that will participate in the Asian Games and the whole of India will be watching.

1) Neeraj Chopra


The reigning Olympic Champion and the most likely World Championship medalist is at the top of the list to bring the medal for India. He is the defending champion at the Asian Games. He will look to establish his dominance and win the Gold medal in Javelin Throw. This will be ideal preparation for the Paris Olympics. Neeraj Chopra has won everything in sport and he will be eager to throw the Javelin a large distance.


2) Indian Men’s Cricket Team


There should be no doubt that the Indian Men’s Cricket team are one of the best medal hopefuls for India in the tournament. It will be an 18 team tournament and the best young players from India will play led by Ruturaj Gaekwad. India should win a medal and anything less than Gold will be considered a subpar performance.


3) Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty


The world number 2 men’s doubles Badminton team in the world would obviously be heavy favorites to win a medal at the Asian Games this year. They are in the best form of their lives and they won everything they participate in. They should win the Gold medal fairly comfortably and prepare for the Asian Games.

This tournament is important in more ways than 1 for the Hockey Team from India. The Men’s Hockey team will be the best team at the Asian Games. They will have to win Gold at the Asian Games to qualify for the Olympics next year via direct qualification. They should win the Gold medal if they play to their absolute best.

The World Champion Boxer from India should be the heavy favorite to win the Gold medal at the Asian Games as well. She should win the Gold medal without any difficulty and she would also secure qualification for the Parts Olympics in 2024. No other boxer in her category is at her level. She will be determined to win every competition.


6) Indian Men’s Chess Team

The best chess Team in Asia is without any doubt India as the players regularly feature in the global championships and most of them are Grandmasters. The team includes Gukesh D, Visit Gujrathi, R Praggnanandhaa, Pentala Harikrishna and Arjun Erigaisi. India should win the Gold medal in Men’s Team and the individual Medals as well.

Saurav Ghoshal is in the final stages of his career as a Squash player and he would be determined to get a medal for India at the Asian Games. He won a Bronze medal at the Asian Games in 2018. He would look to. Win Gold for India and show the world that he is ready for the Olympics. India should get a lot of medals in wrestling.
