Normal Start
When the auction started everything was normal as Hugh Edmeades was the one running the auction and he did the marquee sets and the players were going to their respective teams and the franchises were having a good time as well bidding intensely and for almost 2.30 hours everything was fine and then came the bid for Wanindu Hasaranga and Punjab Kings and RCB were in a bidding war and then something happened which shook everybody and the auction was the last thing on anyone’s mind now.

The Fall and the aftermath
While on the bid for Wanindu Hasaranga, the auctioneer Hugh Edmeades suddenly collapsed on the floor and everyone was shell shocked at first as to what had happened and the auction seemed the least important thing and Hugh*s safety was paramount and the auction was paused and the BCCI were in panic but as they say luck was on their side as Charu Sharma was nearby the hotel and BCCI contacted him and he immediately reached the hotel and was briefed for just an hour and then he had to supervise the auction with no prep or nothing and then the auction resumed at 3.30 pm.
The Great Charu Sharma
This was the second coming of Charu Sharma as this was an unfortunate circumstance and he had to steer the ship and in his inimitable style he very nicely took forward the auction process and everyone was so impressed by what he was doing on just an hour’s brief but he is so vastly experienced and he showed all of it for 2 days and he also helped a few players earn extra money and that is not a bad thing at all. He had arrived yet again and gained the respect of the world for the job he did at such a difficult time abs there is no doubt that he will get lots more opportunities going forward as everyone would want to work with him now.

The Triumphant Return of Hugh Edmeades
When the auction on Day 2 was about to conclude Charu Sharma welcomed Hugh Edmeades to the room and he received a standing ovation from everyone present there and it was a heart touching moment for everyone and became more important than the auction itself as it was his triumphant return from a day before and everyone was happy around the world to see this wonderful sight.
