With bowling figures of 3.3-0-5-5, MI pacer Akash Madhwal became the first bowler to claim a five-wicket haul in an IPL Playoff game. Later, Gujarat Titans pacer Mohit Sharma also recorded a five-wicket haul in another IPL Playoff match (2.2-0-10-5).
With bowling figures of 3.3-0-5-5, MI pacer Akash Madhwal also equalled the record of best bowling figures by an Indian in IPL history. Former Indian leg-spinner Anil Kumble (Royal Challengers Bangalore) also had the bowling figures of 3.1-1-5-5 against Rajasthan Royals at Cape Town on 18 April 2009.

IPL 2023 Best Bowling Figures: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) (Top 3)
English off-spinner Moeen Ali recorded CSK’s second-best bowling figures by an overseas spinner (4-0-26-4). The record is 3.2-0-12-4 by South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir vs Delhi Capitals at Chennai on 1st May 2019.

Mohit Sharma (2.2-0-10-5) recorded the first five-wicket haul for Gujarat Titans.

With the bowling figures of 3.3-0-5-5, Akash Madhwal recorded second-best bowling figures for MI. The record is 3.4-1-12-6 by Alzarri Joseph vs Sunrisers Hyderabad at Hyderabad on 6th April 2019.

With the bowling figures of 4-0-14-5, English bowler Mark Wood recorded the first five-wicket haul for LSG.
