The 19th season of the IPL has been a cruel one for the bowlers. However the best of the best found a way to shine. Bowlers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar showed that he still has what it takes to play at the Top level. Kagiso Rabada was the best overseas fast bowler. Sunil Naraine was magical as he had an economy of less than 7. Young bowlers like Rasikh Dar, Praful Hinge, Kartik Tyagi showed immense promise. Mohsin Khan – 5/23 vs KKR
This was the only 5 Wicket Hauls in the entirety of the IPL. This has to be at the top of best bowling performances. Lucknow Supergiants won this match as well. Mohsin Khan took 5/23 at an economy of less than 6. He dismissed the top order of KKR. He got the wickets of Ajinkya Rahane, Tim Seifert, Cameron Green, Rovman Powell and Anukul Roy. Mohsin Khan was not consistent throughout the season or else he would have given tough competition to Arshdeep Singh for the India spot.
Josh Hazlewood – 4/12 vs Delhi Capitals
This was the Day that Delhi Capitals came close to beating the record of 49 for the lowest score in the IPL. They were bowled out for 75. Josh Hazlewood was the star as he took 4 Wickets for just 12 runs. He dismissed KL Rahul, Sameer Rizwi, Nitish Rana and Abhishek Porel. Josh Hazlewood has not lost a white ball final In his life and he won his 3rd IPL title with RCB. The RCB team would want to retain him when the Mega Auction arrives.
Akeal Hosein – 4/17 vs Mumbai Indians
Akeal Hosein didn’t get a lot of Matches for Chennai Super Kings but the one he played against Mumbai Indians was special. He made an impact as he took 4 Wickets for 17 runs. He got the wickets of Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Verma, Naman Dhir and Danish Malewar. Akeal Hosein is one of the best left arm off spinners in the world.
Jamie Overton – 4/18 vs Delhi Capitals
Delhi Capitals were the victims of some of the best bowling performances throughout the IPL. One such performance was by Jamie Overton for CSK. He took 4 wickets for 18 runs in a 23 run win for the team. He got the Important wickets of Tristan Stubbs, Sameer Rizwi, David Miller and Aaqib Nabi. He will be an important all rounder for CSK going forward.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar – 4/23 vs Mumbai Indians
Bhuvneshwar Kumar has taken 28 Wickets throughout the IPL this year. However his best bowling performance was against Mumbai Indians. He took 4 wickets for 23 runs and he dismissed all the important batters. He got the wickets of Ryan Rickelton, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma. These are the 4 pillars of batting. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has won 3 IPL titles in his career.
