Indian Premier League has witnessed some of the best bowling performances in T20 history. Over the course of time, IPL, different from any other T20 league around the world, has turned to be a paradise for bowlers too. There are many bowling performances in IPL which can be noted as the best in T20 history. 


Here is the list of the players who have taken the most number of wickets in a single IPL season.

West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has a good batting and bowling record in IPL so far. He has made some exceptional performances that designed the victory for CSK. It was in the 2013 season, Bravo really burst out. In that season he created magic with bat as well as with ball. In that season CSK reached the final and finished in second place. Bravo in that season took a total of 32 wickets and this performance still remains as the best in IPL history.


2. Kagiso Rabada



This young South African pacer is one of the best bowlers in modern day cricket. Rabada debuted in IPL three seasons back and transformed himself from a normal pace bowler to an exceptional pacer. It was in the last season of IPL (2020), Rabada too out him true colours. In the IPL season which took part in UAE Rabada played in 11 matches and took a total of 30 wickets.


3. Lasith Malinga



The highest wicket taker in IPL history, Lasith Maliga is one of the most fearsome bowlers in IPL history. With his unexpected swing and Yorkers, Malinga caused fear in the opposition's mind. Even though retired from IPL in 2019, he was the Man of the Match in the last innings. It was in the 2011 season, Malinga lashed out as the most bowlers in IPL. In that season he took a total of 28 wickets from 16 matches and was also the purple cap holder.


4. James Faulkner



James Faulkner has some amazing bowling as well as batting performances to remember in Indian Premier League. In the 2013 season of the IPL he had a great impact in the performance of his team Rajasthan Royals. He proved to be the best buy of Rajasthan Royals in that season by taking a total of 28 wickets in that season and also winning the purple cap. He also took 2 fifers in that season which is a quite rare instance in T20 cricket.


5. Jasprit Bumrah



Bumrah is actually the invention of Indian Premier League. This amazing bowler has the ability to fool the batsmen with his unpredictable swing and pace. In the last 4 to 5 seasons of IPL, he has shown a very consistent performance and is the leading wicket taker too. In the 2020 edition of IPL, Bumrah took a total of 27 wickets falling only three short from winning the purple cap. This is the fifth best bowling performance by a player in an IPL season.
