Delhi Capitals’s (DC) Biggest Defeats in IPL History: By Runs, Wickets & Balls Remaining

Here, we are going through the records of DC’s biggest losing margins. 

DC’s largest defeats (by runs)   

• In the IPL 2017, Delhi Capitals suffered a 146-run defeat against Mumbai Indians at home, the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

• Delhi Capitals’ largest defeat margin (by runs) outside Delhi was in IPL 2024, when Kolkata Knight Riders thrashed them by 106 runs at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, which is a secondary home venue for DC.

• DC suffered their biggest loss outside home in the Semi-final of the IPL 2008, when the Rajasthan Royals beat them by 105 runs at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

• In the IPL 2015, Royal Challengers Bangalore handed DC their first 10-wicket defeat, which was played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

• In the IPL 2017, the hosts Kings XI Punjab beat Delhi Capitals by 10 wickets in Mohali.

• In the IPL 2017, Kings XI Punjab thrashed Delhi Capitals by ten wickets with 73 balls remaining in Mohali, the biggest losing margin by balls remaining for Delhi Capitals. 

• When RCB beat DC by ten wickets in the IPL 2015, the successful chasing side had a 57-ball remaining. While the match was played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, it was DC’s largest defeat by balls remaining at home.
