The IPL Auction 2026 has been interesting. There have already been some big buys by the teams. This was a mini auction and KKR had the most budget and they made the biggest buys in the Auction. 1) Cameron Green – 25.20 Crores
The most predictable spot in this list is Cameron Green. There were 2 teams that were in the hunt for this player. KKR and CSK were the two teams going for Cameron Green. KKR paid a massive 25.20 Crores and CSK could have gone higher but they left the bidding. Cameron Green will solve a lot of problems. He will bat at the top of the order and he will be a fast bowler and bowl 4 overs. Cameron Green will get 18 Crores and the remaining will go to the welfare fund.
2) Matheesha Pathirana – 18 Crores
The other big international buy at the IPL Auction is Matheesha Pathirana. He was one of the most sought after fast bowlers in the world. KKR yet again have acquired the services of these fast bowlers. KKR paid 18 crores for Matheesha Pathirana. This was a few crores more than they should have given. Matheesha Pathirana will solve the death bowling problem of KKR.
3) Prashant Veer – 14.20 Crores
One of the stories of the IPL Auction has been the Indian uncapped Players. Chennai Super Kings saved all their money for these players. One of them is Prashant Veer. He is a like for like replacement for Ravindra Jadeja. They have punted big on this youngster. He said earlier in the year that he would love to play for CSK. He is a left arm off spinner and an attacking lower order batter. The only hope is that this price tag does not bog him down.
4) Kartik Sharma – 14.20 Crores
The other uncapped Indian player that CSK have bet heavily on is the wicket Keeper Kartik Sharma. KKR were very interested in him and CSK have paid 14.20 Crores for him. Kartik Sharma is yet another young signing by the team in a clear signal that they have pivoted to the youngsters.
5) Liam Livingstone – 13 Crores
Late in the Auction Liam Livingstone has entered the Top 5 Most Expensive Buys at IPL Auction. It was during the last accelerated auction and Sunrisers Hyderabad were the team that had the most amount left. LSG went all the way till 13 Crores and Sunrisers Hyderabad bought the star all rounder. He will be in the team with Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Pat Cummins etc.
