  • In the first-ever IPL match (2008), while M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru hosted the Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kolkata Knight Riders match, RCB suffered their largest defeat by runs after losing by 140 runs.

  • RCB’s largest defeat (by runs) record outside Bengaluru is losing by 118 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad in 2019.

RCB’s largest defeats (by wickets)  

  • Royal Challengers Bengaluru have suffered nine-wicket defeats for six times, three times at their home venue, M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. RCB suffered their first nine-wicket defeat in 2008 against the hosts Kings XI Punjab in Mohali.

RCB’s largest defeats (by balls remaining)   

  • In the IPL 2022, SunRisers Hyderabad beat RCB by nine wickets with 72 balls remaining in Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. It is the biggest losing margin by balls remaining for RCB. 

  • In the IPL 2017, RCB suffered their largest defeat by balls remaining at home (M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru) when now-defunct Gujarat Lions beat them by seven wickets with 37 balls remaining.
