Top 3 Batsmen to score 400-plus runs in at least 6 consecutive IPL seasons

The Indian Premier League (IPL), which began in 2008, is presently in its 18th season, starting from 22nd March. It is considered one of the hardest and most energizing T20 leagues in the world. Consistently scoring runs isn't a simple thing to do in the IPL, indeed for world-class batsmen. Each season, the player with the most runs is granted the Orange Cup.

So far, Virat Kohli has scored the most runs in a IPL season; the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain scored 973 runs back in IPL 2016. Each batter playing in the IPL dreams of winning the Orange Cap along with the trophy for the team. But with plenty of world batters playing in the IPL, it's not simple to be among the best run scorers.

However, a few players have stood the test of time and have reliably performed within the IPL. On that note, let's take a look at three batters who have scored 400-plus runs in at least six consecutive IPL seasons.

3) Shikhar Dhawan (7 times between 2016 and 2022)

Shikhar Dhawan showed amazing consistency within the IPL over the final few years. Serving for Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals, and Punjab Kings, the left-handed opening batter made the solid impacts for his teams between IPL 2016 and IPL 2022.

Dhawan scored 400-plus runs in seven consecutive IPL seasons. The southpaw scored 501 runs in the 2016 version to begin the streak. Then he scored 479 runs in 2017, 497 runs in 2018, 521 runs in 2019, 618 runs in 2020, 587 runs in 2021, and 460 runs in 2022.

2) Suresh Raina (7 times between 2008 and 2014)

Suresh Raina scored 5528 runs in his 13-year IPL career. The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star's streak of scoring 400-plus runs kept going for seven continuous IPL seasons between 2008 and 2014. In the inaugural IPL in 2008, Suresh Raina amassed 421 runs before scoring 434 runs in 2009, 520 runs in 2010, 438 runs in 2011, 441 runs in 2012, 548 runs in 2013, and 523 runs in 2014. This streak of Raina helped his team Chennai Super Kings to win the IPL trophy for two successive years during this time period (2010 and 2011). 1) David Warner (7 times between 2013 and 2020)

Australian batting stalwart David Warner showed consistency all through his IPL career. The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) star is the only non-Indian batter to score 400-plus runs in at least six continuous IPL seasons. Warner began his streak in 2013 when he scored 410 runs for Delhi Daredevils. Then for Sunrisers Hyderabad, Warner maintained his status by scoring 528 runs in 2014, 562 runs in 2015, 848 runs in 2016 which helped SRH to win their maiden title, 641 runs in 2017, 692 runs in 2019, and 548 runs in 2020. He was unavailable for the IPL 2018 due to his suspension by the Cricket Australia (CA) for involvement in the ball-tampering scandal during the 2018 Cape Town Test against South Africa.
