The IPL Auction for the year 2026 will happen on 16th December 2025. All 10 teams will arrive at the Auction with different strategies and different purses. Kolkata knight riders will come with a purse of 64 crores and Mumbai Indians will come with a purse of less than 3 crores. There will be players who will be given big money and there will be more than 1.

1) Cameron Green
There is a unanimous consensus that Cameron Green will be the most expensive player at the IPL Auction 2026. However there is a catch as the IPL has introduced a rule that an overseas player cannot be paid more than 18 crores. Cameron Green is probably the best all rounder on Show at the auction. He is in the form of his life and he can bat at the top of the order and bowl 4 overs. Teams like KKR and CSK will battle it out for him at the Auction. The absence of Glenn Maxwell and Andre Russell will help his cause.
2) Venkatesh Iyer
He was given 23.75 Crores by KKR in IPL 2025. Therefore KKR could not retain him and his performance was not at the level expected. He will he one of the most sought after Indian Players at the Auction. It is very rare to have an Indian fast bowling all rounder. He is someone who can bat at the top of the order. He can bowl 3 overs in an innings. Venkatesh Iyer will this year be once again one of the highest buys. He would hope that KKR buys him back yet again but if another team gets him then they will get a match winner.
3) Matheesha Pathirana
Matheesha Pathirana was one of the most shocking releases before the IPL Auction 2026. Chennai Super Kings looked at him as the future and they wanted to build a team with him. However his fitness concerns and the fact that he has not been in form last season forced CSK to release him. He will be one of the most sought after fast bowlers out there. A team like KKR will look to get him and with the budget they have they can get him. CSK will try to get him back at a cheaper price but that might not happen. He is so young and will be an IPL great in 10 years.
4) Quinton De Kock
Quinton De Kock has ensured that he will get paid a lot of money at the IPL Auction by being so good in the white ball series against India. He has scored a brilliant hundred in the ODI Series and a match winning 90 in the T20I Match. He has quickly emerged as one of those players that will be a hot commodity at the Auction. He has shown that he still has a lot left in the tank. KKR will look to get him back but they might have to pay the big bucks. He will be in the 15 crores range.
5) Ravi Bishnoi
The spinners will be in demand and none will be in higher demand that Ravi Bishnoi. He was someone who was in LSG but they released him as he was costing 11 crores. Ravi Bishnoi is someone who is young but also has a lot of experience playing top class cricket. He will be one of the Indian players that will get the big bucks. Ravi Bishnoi will want to prove that he still has it and he will look to show the Indian team management that he has what it takes to play for India.
