Paris 2024 Olympics: Vikash Singh and Paramjeet Bisht Qualify For Men's 20 km Walk

In the recently concluded Asian 20km Race Walking Championships 2023, Vikash Singh and Paramjeet Bisht shined along with gold medalist Akshdeep Singh. Both Vikash and Paramjeet secured their spots for the Budapest 2023 World Championships and Paris 2024 Olympics.

Nomi (Japan) recently hosted the Asian 20km Race Walking Championships 2023. Akshdeep Singh, who already qualified for both the 2023 World Championships and Paris 2024 Olympics, won the gold medal after finishing the men’s 20 km race walk (Asian Race Walking Ch. – A) in 1 hour 20 minutes and 57 seconds.

Meanwhile, in the open category, Vikash Singh and Paramjeet Bisht ended their race at 1:20:05 and 1:20:08, respectively. Both the Indians confirmed their places for the 2023 World Championships and Paris 2024 Olympics for the men’s 20 km race walk event.

For both Paris 2024 Olympics and the Budapest 2023 World Athletics Championships, the qualifying standard timing has been set for the men’s 20km race walk event to 1 hour 20 minutes and 10 seconds. So, both Vikash and Paramjeet have successfully met the target to secure their tickets for the upcoming two prestigious global events.

In the meantime, Priyanka Goswami celebrated with the bronze medal in the women’s 20 km race walk event (Asian Race Walking Ch. – A) in the Asian 20km Race Walking Championships 2023 after clocking at 1:32:27.
